Helping Tegwen through the subway tunnel, the group made their way past the Aurors, while Tegwen continued to fight staying away. However, she seemed to become a bit more alert when they came upon Queenie and Jacob.

"You two are alive!" She said happily leaving Tina and Newt to wrap her arms around Jacob and Queenie. The way she was acting, it seemed she hadn't seen the two in years, but they were just as happy to see her as they hugged her in return. "You two wouldn't believe what just happened. It was insane, I am just beside myself right now."

"Are you okay, honey?" Queenie asked her with a slightly worried look.

"Twiggy needs a nap," Newt pointed out and everyone seemed to understand from that point on and just allowed the woman to ramble on. Queenie wrapped her arms around her sister while Jacob walked over to Newt, holding out the man's suitcase.

"I figured somebody oughta keep on eye on this thing," Jacob told him as Newt took it back happily.

"Thank you," Newt said in a humble, yet grateful tone as he held the suitcase close to him.

Madam Picquery approached the group with a stern look on her face, causing all of them to become uneasy, except for Tegwen, who was lost in a moment in her head from the lack of sleep. However, Newt placed her behind him in a protective manner and moved his suitcase to his side, preparing himself for the woman's orders or whatever she had to say.

"We owe you an apology, Mr. Scamander," Madam Picquery began, looking physically pained that she had to apologize and admit that she was wrong, but Newt wasn't about to let her get off that easily.

He cleared his throat, cutting the woman off and made a motion with his eyes and nodded his head in Tegwen's direction, along with the rest of the group that had been through hell and back. Madam Picquery didn't pick up on the hint that she owed the entire group an apology for MACUSA's actions against them.

"But the magical community is exposed," She looked directly at Tegwen that gave her a look in return.

"I'm sorry,"  Tegwen said looking to Jacob, "but is she complaining right now?"

Jacob hid his smile behind his hand before they turned back to the woman.

"We cannot obliviate an entire city!"

"Well not with that kind of attitude!" Tegwen called out before Queenie and Tina placed their hands over her mouth to keep her from getting into further trouble.

After a moment of passing silence, Newt seemed to think of something before he looked at the president.

"Actually, I think we can," He said in a confident tone.

"That's the spirit!" Tegwen clapped her hands together.

Moving forward, Newt stood beneath the large hole that had been blown through the tunnel by the Obscurus explosion and placed his case down. As soon as he opened it, Frank the Thunderbird flew out, spreading his wings and hovering above them. Everyone seemed to be in awe of Frank as they looked on to see Newt approach the creature.

"Could you imagine the bird feeder fit for him?" Tegwen asked Jacob. The man snorted loudly before petting the top of the woman's head.

"I was intending to wait until we got to Arizona," Newt said looking at the Thunderbird with a longing look. "But it seems now that you're our only hope, Frank."

Newt embraced the creature like a parent would sending their child off on their first day of school.

"I'll miss you," he told Frank before they embraced. Everyone watched in silence as Newt dug into his pocket and pulled out a vial before throwing it up into the air for Frank to snatch up in his beak.
