New message from Dan:

To Dan:
Are you going to bring Beethoven back from the dead?

From Dan:
no its better

To Dan:

Dan seemed to have found his niche in planning cheesy dates for us. He informed me earlier that he was putting together a list of cute ideas for things we could do together. I told him I was excited, but if karaoke was on that list I would have to kill him.

I'm ninety-nine-point-nine percent positive he had to go and erase all of his ploys to get me to sing from the list after that.

New message from Dan:
LOOK OUT YOUR WINDOW!!!

To Dan:
Did you set your house on fire?

From Dan:
LOOOOOOOOK ! ! !

I shook my head and laughed, putting my phone down long enough to peek out my bedroom window.

Dan was standing there, grinning and holding something I over his head, but I couldn't make out exactly what it was.

To Dan:
?

From Dan:
IM GOING TO TEACH YOU HOW TO SKATEBOARD!

To Dan:
no thanks

From Dan:
COME ONNNNN! JUST COME OUTSIDE!

To Dan:
no thanks

From Dan:
AAAAAAAA

I hoped Dan knew I was just messing with him. I liked teasing him like this, I wasn't entirely sure why, I just did. Because I did actually love spending time with Dan. We would spend every second with each other if it were up to me, I just wasn't sure how to tell him this without freaking him out or throwing up on his shoes.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw something shuffling around behind Dan's window. I turned my head and choked on laughter.

Dan was standing there, all smiles, holding up a piece of paper with the words PLEASE COME OUTSIDE! scribbled in Dan's practically illegible handwriting in big red block letters.

I smiled stupidly and nodded, even though there's no way he would be able to see that small gesture from all the way across the street, but I would be outside with him soon, so it was okay.

"Well you sure look happy to see me," I laughed, stepping outside and closing the front door behind me.

Dan was standing there, bright eyed and grinning from ear-to-ear with his skateboard tucked under one arm. I'd never been at all interested in skateboarding, but this was Dan's thing and he wanted to share it with me and I definitely wasn't going to say no.

"I'm gonna teach you some sick moves!" He said, setting his board down. I couldn't tell if he was using the term "sick moves" ironically or not. I was scared.

"I feel like I should at least figure out how to stay upright on the board first!" I chuckled, pushing a hand threw my unkept hair.

My ginger roots had grown out much more in the past few weeks than I had let them since year nine. I had the dye in my bathroom, ready for me whenever, but I could never find time to actually do it. Dan had pretty much taken over my entire schedule. I'd make plans to do my hair and then ditch them almost immediately to go on a movie date.

But, hey, there are worse problems to have.

"We can just start off with balance," Dan said, parking his foot in front of the front wheels to keep the board in place.
