High school AU

(Jacob' POV)

After the "incident" with Max and I the morning after the Halloween party we have gotten really close. I've learned so many things about him such as he wants to be a YouTuber. He is good at editing videos, but wants to learn about animating. He got accepted to a really good tech school and is going to be studying animations.

The end of the school year went by and Max graduated. I was there to watch him receive his diploma along with the others that I grew close to because of Max. Summer started and we spent almost every day together. We also had a lot more "incidents" as the summer went on.

August came along and threw all that down the drain. High school sophomore year starting for me and Max had to move into his dorm for college.

"Why can't the summer last forever? Why does school have to mess it all up?" I asked, my head resting on Max's shoulder as we both stared at the sunset on the beach. We traveled to the beach one last time before school started back up.

"I don't know. I leave for my campus in two days. I don't want to leave you." Max said.

"We can always talk over the phone or video chat." I said.

"Yeah, there's always that. Or... you can come with me. I can get an apartment and we could live together." Max said excited.

"I'd love to do that so much, but I can't just yet. I still have high school to attend to, I just can't transfer. There's also my family I can't just leave them." I said with sorrow.

"Yeah... I guess you're right." Max said sadly.

I lifted my head off his shoulder and looked at him. He turned his head towards mine.

"We will make this work. No matter how difficult this is we will make it work." I said triumphantly.

Max smiled and brought his hand under my chin and brought it in for him to kiss. I smiled into the kiss letting all my troubles melt away with each kiss.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too." Max replied.
