"Percy wake up!"

Annabeth shook his arm.

"We're almost there! The plane is about to land....Wake up!"

"What!?" Percy got up with a shudder. "Ouch!" He moved his shoulders and his neck and searing pain shot up his body. "I hate muscle pulls" He groaned.

"You shouldn't have slept like this...Anyway look we're landing!!" said Annabeth

Immediately Percy forgot about all his pain sat up straight. The view outside the window was the best one percy had ever seen. The atlantic ocean glittered on their right. They could see the seagulls flying over it. The sun shone brightly in the sky. Tall buildings and scyscrapers touched the sky. The cars and buses looked like remote control toys from such a height.

Percy's heart danced with joy. "I can't wait to explore london!" He said enthusiasticaly.

"Me neither!" Annabeth had the same excitement in her voice.

Percy loved to see her like this. Cheerfull and happy. Way better than the annoyed  version of Annabeth. Whoa....that idea gave Percy chills.

In no time they were inside the airport waiting for their luggage to arrive.

"Here come our suitcases!" Percy said as he picked them up from the conveyor belt.

They walked out of the arrival department.

London was unlike any city Percy  had ever seen. The buildings were too diverse to be charectarized by any particular architectural style. The streets seemed very busy. The air smelled of freshly baked bread (maybe because there were bakeries nearby). The city gave a very historic feeling to Percy. All the people were dressed formally. Most of the men Percy could see wore shirts and trousers and shoes. He thought he was the only one in london wearing shorts and athletic shoes. The women wore mini skirts and high heels. Percy thought that the Londoneers admireed dark and sober colours unlike what he was wearing. The Thames glittered under the sun. Percy was stunned. He had never seen a river look so beautiful.

"This is heaven!" Annabeth let out a cry of happiness.

"Agreed!" Percy said.

"So where to go now?? asked Annabeth. "We hardly know any hotels or inns here"

"Never fear when Percy's here!" He took out the London guide from his backpack. "Where is the list of the top ten hotels??? He said and began flipping the pages.

Annabeth rolled her eyes and snatched the book from him. "Here, found it. .......Let's stay in 'Permiere inn'. Its in greenwich. 'Premiere inn has eveything you would expect. Increadibly comfy rooms and an onsite restaurant for a fresh new twist on eating'". She read out. "Sounds okay??"

"More than okay" Percy said.

So Percy and Annabeth went along the path to find a cab. In no time they were inside one and driving all the way to Greenwhich.

"So... do you know any good tourists spots here??" Percy asked the driver.

"Ofourse sir, you could always visit the st paul's cathedrale, Benjamin Franklin house,The tower of London..............but aren't you two a little small to be travelling all alone in london??" He asked doubtfuly.

"Well yeah....uhh....." Percy hesitated.

"Our parents are waiting for us in Greenwich. They had some conference there so they went away telling us to take a cab and reach there after two to three hours." Annabeth said.

"Then why didn't you go there along with them??"

Percy felt like smacking this guy in the face. But then controlled himself..." Uhh because we had some work here.....now if you don't mind could you just keep quiet for like some time..cause we're trying to sleep here....its been an exhausting day.."

Percy had been travelling in the cab for the past four hours. He was really irritated beacause since morning they had done nothing but travel, travel and travel.  Annabeth was fast asleep beside him."

"How much more time to Greenwich???" He asked.

"Just one hour more, sir." The driver replied.

Percy looked out of the window. Grey clouds had gathered in the sky. The wind was blowing at a high speed. "Looks like a huge storm's gonna come" He mumbled.

As soon as he said this, lighting flashed in the sky and it began to rain.

"Oh man.....this was the last thing that could happen!" Percy moaned.

Suddenly the cab stopped with a shudder. Annabeth's head hit on the seat in front.

"What!.....why did we stop. She asked.

"The engines have stopped working" Replied the driver.

"Great! I was waiting for that to happen!" Said Percy.

"And to add to that..." The driver muttered " There is no mechanic before Greenwich."

Soon after that Percy and Annabeth were standing outside the cab, drenched in the rain waiting for a lift.  They had been standing there for the past half an hour but no one was willing to take them.

Just when they had lost all hope, a blue buick stopped in front of them. They could see a huge man driving. He had thick, dark hair. A bushy moustache and a large purple face with mean eyes. Beside him was sitting a woman.(maybe his wife)She was thin, blonde and had pale eyes. She had front teeth like those of a horse. In the back seat was sitting a fat boy maybe sixteen and another boy, thin and skinny with spectacles. He looked very extraordinary to Percy. He also had a scar, the shape of a lightening bolt on his forehead.......
