As I was reading the only thing I could hear was the sound of the train on the rails. It was so pretty and calming, Well until there was a sudden screeching sound and I fell onto the girl in front of me. What the fuck had just happened?
I looked up into that beautiful icy blue eyes of hers, with the dark blue circle around the iris.
"I'm... I'm really sorry." I stuttered silently, more to myself than to her while trying to stand up.
"It's no problem really, it wasn't your fault." She said like I just ripped her out of a pretty little daydream.
I looked outside, only to see that the trees were no more flying by beside us but instead, they stood still. We stood still.
"Excuse me, ladies and gentleman." A croaked voice came from the old speaker. "We can't continue on these rails because of the strong mist, which led to an accident. We aren't sure when everything is going to be cleared up ."
"Shit." I and the girl said in sync.
"Well.", I said. "We're probably gonna be stuck here for some time now. Maybe I should introduce myself, I'm Tara."
She looked at me suspiciously but then decided to speak up "I'm Luna."
"Luna? Like the moon? Nice name."
Luna scoffed "Yeah, totally."
That made me raise one of my dark eyebrows. "Why do you say that?"
"Long story, pretty personal too." She proceeded to look out the window again, even tho it was probably boring to only see the same trees and rails again and again.
You fucked up, I said to myself while staring at my feet. You fucked up, fucked up, fucked up. I could slap myself.
I needed something to distract myself from my anxiety, so I watched Luna again.
Her side profile was beautiful too, my eyes traced it but then I saw a scar going from her ear to the middle of her neck. Where she got that from? She probably would never tell me.
This day would have been the first time I wasn't late, but this just changed. I was trapped on a train, in the middle of fucking nowhere with a lot of strangers. But hey at least I had Luna sitting opposite of me. She didn't seem like she wanted to start a conversation tho.
I picked up my book that was still lying on the floor after our collision and started to read again. Kell and Lila were just going to win against the bad twins and then
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but what are you reading?" I looked back up into her gorgeous blue eyes that reminded me a bit of my favorite sweet, an ice blue mint bonbon. (A/N: IDK how to describe it because you can only get it in Austria)
If anyone else would have interrupted my reading I would have probably been pissed. It was my way to escape this cold and stressful world and go to an alternative-most of the time better-place. Everyone who interrupted me was basically tearing up my beautiful daydream.
"My favorite book, it's called "A darker shade of magic"."
"Kell, Lila or Rhy?"
