One: The New World

Date: 9th December, 1924

There it was.

The Statue of Liberty stood tall and proud, with the lady's arm held high, with a torch of flames on her hand. It had a blue tint on it, and it could easily be spotted if there had  not been a great wave over lashing  towards her with great natural force. Though the wave was not at its fault due to the strong wind which had Elise James grasping onto the cold metal railings of the ship.

"Can't you believe it, Wesley!" Elise was beaming whilst she whispered. "We're here in America!"

Her hands were warm inside her worn-out leather gloves as she clasped the railing of the ship, watching it move nearer towards the large docks. Any other bystander would suspect nothing abnormal about the woman apart from how you can hear her mutterings - as if Elise James had an imaginary friend that she often spoke to.

However, when she glanced over to her shoulder, there was a small creature curled near her neck, quietly growling. It was very cold, but it had seemed the enchanted creature was happy with the freezing breeze slapping their faces - wind: salty due to the sea vapour.

Elise rolled her eyes when her little friend decided to gently whack her cheek with its wings, as if Wesley seemed to have grumbled at her.

She spoke softly, "Come on Wesley, you know the farthest we have come about travelling was going to Bulgaria, and that wasn't exactly the best holiday."

Wesley, due to his form, blew out a small flame of fire. The witch would've imagined her paper dragon to lit himself up in flames, but due to Elise adding runes to enchant protective and dillusionment charms around her companion: Welsey was able to become himself as a real dragon...apart from the fact that Elise had created him out of parchment paper.

Once the ship had slowly entered the docks, Elise headed for the other side of the ship. When she had arrived, there was a slow moving queue down the plank and into a long sections which called itself: 'customs'. It took so slowly that Elise began observing the passengers she had come with to the USA.

There were a variety of Muggles everywhere; there were some hints of wizards or witches entering the country, though Elise wasn't exactly sure herself whether who was who by the clattering of colours and clothing.

Finally, she then found herself presenting her passport and visa over to the American Muggle behind the desk, eyeing her like the majority of the authorities that inspected the new comers.

"Do you have any luggage, ma'am?" The man who had looked at Elise's passport looked at her in concern, which she had expected.

Elise then carefully placed the leather brief case she had brought on the table, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. After Elise saw him glance at her one more time, she witnessed him unlocking her case before closing it tightly once more.
