Dylan's POV
Her hair sat perfectly in a top knot on her head. Her blue-green eyes sparked as she looked up at me. The smell of vanilla lingered on her tanned skin. I can't help but wanted to scoop up her small frame in my arms and carry her away. Wait, what? I just met this girl.
"H-hi, I'm Dylan", I say nervously, as my usually awkward self. Owen gives a suspicious glare.
Smooth move, Dyl.
Anna's POV
I have waited a year for this. I whole year not knowing whether Owen, my boyfriend of 2 years, would make it home. And now that he is home, I can't figure out why I'm not as excited as I should be. I guess it's just because I haven't seen him in so long. Sure we send letters and talk on the phone occasionally, but it's just not the same. I'm the kind of person who would much rather sit down and have a good one-on-one conversation than text.
When he walks out the terminal door I should be screaming and crying with joy, but I just wave and smile as soon as I see his tall, muscly body and beach blond hair. Once he notices me he started running towards me and a boy with dark brown hair and gorgeous brown eyes follows slowly behind.
Owen leans down and hugs me, he isn't a big fan of PDA. Then he tells me that the boy walking behind him, Dylan, and he is moving in with us in our apartment. I had always heard about Dylan, but had never actually met him. Owen had explained that he had some family issues, probably why he needed to stay with us.
I decide to be polite and introduce myself, despite my less than pleasant appearance and tired demeanor.
"Hi, I'm Anna, Owens girlfriend." I smile trying not to sound to tired.
"H-hi, I'm Dylan", he say nervously. His flushed cheeks and awkwardness is actually kind of cute. Wait, did I really just say that? No. I'm in love with Owen. Right?
"Let's go home." Owen exclaims excitedly. He grabs my hand in his and we start to walk away. Dylan is slowly trailing behind.
---
When we get to the car, Anna hops in shotgun and I sit in the back as Owen chucks his huge duffle bag in the trunk. Immediately, Anna starts asking Owen about his experiences while he was away.
Usually, soldiers wouldn't like to talk about there time at war, but Owen loved it. Owen was a doctor in the army, so he was so proud of all the people he got to help save.
I could tell that Anna was totally consumed by Owens stories. Her bright eyes were locked on him, and her small hand propped up her head. Her other hand was tapping away to the Kodaline song playing in the background. Apparently me and Anna shared the same taste in music.
Dylan's POV
*an hour later*
We all cram into the elevator of Owen and Anna's apartment building. No one says a word on the way up. Great, can't wait to live with these two happy campers.
After going up 3 levels the elevator stops and we shuffle out one at a time. We walk past about 10 rooms and stop at the end of the hall at room 407.
Anna rummages through her purse and finally finds the key to the apartment.
She sticks the key in the hole and twists the door knob. Then the door clicks open revealing there huge apartment.
I can't really tell how I'm going to like living with the two of them. I hope it will be fine...
