Niall's P.O.V.

The next few days were kind of... uncomfortable. I don't attend school for another 2 weeks, when the semester is over, so I've basically been sitting in my plain, empty room doing nothing.

Anne said her and I would go shopping for some furniture, but so far she hasn't kept her word. I understand though, she's been busy.

As for Harry, we don't talk. He's really anti-social, I've come to find out. So I don't really try to talk to him.

Today it was a Saturday, so Harry didn't have school. Unfortunately Anne had work still, so it'll just be me and Harry home. Which made me all the more uncomfortable, because I'm awkward.

"Alright boys," Anne yelled from downstairs, "I'm leaving!"

"Okay," Harry and I said in unison.

"Come lock the door behind me, one of yous."

"Got it," Harry informed both of us, as I heard him jog down the stairs.

I, too, made my way downstairs to get myself some food. I overheard Anne and Harry talking.

"Be nice," Anne warned him, "I know you're not happy about his arrival but you need to respect him."

"Mom I'm not mad. I don't care that he's here. I'm always nice," Harry informed her.

"Try talking to him, yeah? Make friends?" Harry nodded.

"Okay, thank you baby, I really have to go though. Be safe, love ya bunches" she finished off with a kiss to his cheek. "Bye Niall!"

"See ya!"

They both jumped when I answered, obviously not knowing I was down here.

"Oh, okay. Bye boys," she smiled and Harry closed the door after her and locked it.

"So you heard all that?" Harry asked, looking at his feet. Shy little thing.

"Ye. No worries, ain't mad."

"Yeah, no. No that's not what I thought, I was just.. uh... wondering."

"Alright," I laughed, awkwardly. "So. Just me and you eh?"

"Yeah," he replied. "Wanna do something? Or something. I don't know.."

"Why so nervous?"

"Not nervous. Just shy." he shrugged.

"Oh, well you ain't gotta be shy with me. Pretty easy to get along with."

"Yeah, same here. Once you get to know me, I guess."

I sat on the couch, "Well, let's get to know each other then. Yeah?" I suggested.

"Sure," he agreed, sitting down across from me.

"I'll start," I took in a deep breath. "Okay. So uh. I'm Niall. I'm 15. I uh. I... yeah. How about you?"

He looked at me and cocked his head, "That's it?"

"Well I don't know! I'm not good at this stuff."

"How about I ask you questions and you answer?"

"Yeah, yeah good idea."

And so we did just that. He asked about my family, and friends back at home. What my school was like, my pets, my talents, interests, hobbies. Ireland itself, which I liked that question.

Then I asked him, just about all the same questions. I learned he has a sister, Gemma. Though I haven't seen her. She's at college, older sister. He's also 15, though he was born in 1994 and I, 1993. His birthday is in February and mine is in September, so it evens out. We don't really have much in common, but I guess that's a good thing. Trying new things is good, I guess.
