Luke's POV
"Mere-people...? Like mermaids and meremen? But that's all fairy tales."
"There are many things most people can't t see. Won't see. But you just have to open your eyes and look for all the things that are invisible to people who are afraid of seeking adventure. And you seem to be some one who is afraid of losing that feeling. The feeling for adventure. That's one of the reasons why I trust you. Another is because I don't think you'll run, cower, or hide when you.... find out who, what I am." Malachi stated with a soft smile on his lips.
I blushed at his words but soon turned confused. "What you are? Are you a mere-person too?" I gasped. "You said mere-people are real... so does that mean there are other things? Like fairies or werewolves? Vampires?" Now I'm starting to get excited.
Malachi looked taken aback for a second, but that beautiful smile found its way back onto his face. "You're a fast learner." He stated walking over and standing in front of me.
"Hello Luke Fillps, my name is Malachi Valentine and I am the King vampire, ruler of all 'mythical' creatures." Malachi bowed slightly.
I gaped at him, speechless.
This.
Is.
So.
Cool!
Wait, this guy could turn out to be a total nutjob spewing crazed nonsense. But on the other hand this very handsome man could actually be telling the truth. Only one way to find out.
"If you're telling the truth, and aren't a crazy person, prove to me what you are." I told Malachi as he straightened and looked at me, a smile on his lips.
"Alright, but you have to promise not to run, scream, or hide. And for God's sake, please don't tell anyone about this." He said as if taking precautions.
I only hummed in response, feeling slightly anxious about this.
"Well then here we go."
After a few moments, this strange black smoke started to surround Malachi as he closed his eyes.
The smoke swirled gracefully around Malachi, completely covering his body. Through the smoke I could see his darkened figure start to slightly morph and shift inside the smokey barrier.
Just as quickly and gracefully as it had appeared, the smoke danced away into the clear night sky, dispersing throughout the sky.
I looked back down towards where Malachi was standing, but in his wake, stood a slightly different Malachi.
He had slight, yet noticeable, pointed ears, his piercings still among his ear. There were a set of sharp, white fangs set in his smiling mouth. His eyes were still that abnormal red color, but it seemed to glow slightly.
"Now do you believe me?" Malachi asked a very slight accent, that I hadn't noticed before, mixed in with his heavenly voice.
I could only nod as I stared at him, dumbstruck.
"Well now that you know I'm not mental, how about we finally go and check up on the mere-people?" Malachi chuckled.
I snapped out of my trance and shook my head vigorously. "I am totally ready to see what this world actually has in store for me." I stated, looking at the king of creatures that was walking towards me.
Malachi held out his hand. "Well then I shall take you there, Luke..." He said huskily into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
I nodded, smiling brightly, and took his hand, sending pleasurable sparks throughout my body. I stifled a soft moan that threatened to escape my lips.
In this moment, I wished to never let go of The King of Creatures, Malachi Valentine, and I was determined to make sure that wish came true.I held on tighter to Malachi's hand, looking up at him. "Let's go."
I think I love a vampire and king named Malachi Valentine and, surprisingly, I'm totally okay with that.
