there once was a lowly peasant who fell in love with a lovely princess. the princess didnt care or even know the peasant. so one day the peasant went to the castle to talk to the princess and see if she would he his wife. she laughed and said "me and you? i think not!" the royal gaurds tossed the peasant into the winter night. the next day the peasant came and she said the same thing. this happened for six years with the same result everytime. finally the princess got sick of the peasant and ordered him to a public hanging. right before she pulled the drop lever he reached into his pocket and pulled out a beautiful dimond ring. inscribed on the band was the princesses name and the following words "forever and always. i will hold the doors of heaven open or strike down the demons of hell just to see you again!" He shouted to her, "this cost everything i owned and saved for the past six years of waiting for you." he threw the ring as she pulled the drop lever. when she read the inscriptions, she began to cry knowing that the peasant had given everything that he owned just to give her a token that ment more to him than living. she put the ring on, wiped her tears. she vowed on that day that she would marry no earthly man but wait for her dying day to see the peasant again someday.
