Narrator's POV

It has been three years since Ziva told Tony to leave, so she could move on. She hasn't called anyone, except Gibbs, but that was also three years ago. Even though she wanted to go back so badly, she couldn't, her pride was worth more than her happiness. She wanted to change so badly, but she also wanted to be happy. Ziva left a part of her in Washington, that can never be erased. She was sick and tired of the same routine everyday, for the past 36 months.

Wake up, eat, bath, read, garden, eat, read, sleep. Over and over again. She did try something new, but she didn't continue her new hobby-writing. She used to write letters all addressed to the one and only Anthony DiNozzo Junior. She never sent one though, she just didn't feel the need to bother his life. A lot of advices were given to her from Orli, she at least... had some worth.

As for Tony, he feels worse than what Ziva feels. Everything in his life was meaningless. He sent her letters, but he never got a reply back. Tony wanted to go back to Israel, but he was in doubt. Why wouldn't he? The last time he knew, in not less than a week, Ziva already had a new man. Why wouldn't he forget about Adam? How he abused Ziva's vulnerability and used her to sleep with her. It was breaking down on him too fast, the emotions he was feeling was too heavy, too sad.

The search, the kiss, the flight back, the moving on, the new agent, the new girlfriend, the break up and the letters. Over and over again reminding him, what caused the pain and happiness. He couldn't dare to take a flight back to Israel. He did bought tickets, he went to the airport, but he didn't have the courage to go and find her. He felt disappointed, at himself, he wasted money for the tickets, that he booked many times but he refused to go. Afraid of what might greet him when he sees her. A lot of thoughts were chasing his mind, to find her or to leave her completely, that is the question.

Both of them, torturing each other, from half way around the world. Both wanting to be together again but they wouldn't dare, couldn't find the courage, won't know what to say, and can't seem to resist. They both have the same thought in mind, 'I am sure that three years is long enough, so what about now?' The couple-like former partners thought. Everything for them was inevitable. Very inevitable. Maybe it just so happens that, they aren't sure of what they want.

Tony didn't want the long distance almost like relationship. He booked another flight to Paris. Yes, Paris. Not Israel. He wasted a lot of money booking a ticket to the place where he realised he loves her. Paris, France. He also wasted money, he was lacking strength to go back, especially without her. Now, he remembered the reason why he doesn't want to go to Paris again. It's definitely not because of Ziva, well... actually it sorta was.

Flashback

Paris, January 26, 2007. 8:45 pm

Tony and Ziva laid on the king sized bed, that the hotel has provided them. Well, accidentally provided. The post-dinner and movie events, had got them sweaty, tired and messy. The bed was not tidy anymore, unlike a while ago it was made and not a mess. They were snuggled up together completely wasting the excess space given by the bed. It was the night where not only their pleasures are involved but also the feelings that they have hidden for each other for years. Love. They both wanted something, not just an overnight fling, but a real relationship. So Tony had came up with an idea, "Ziva?"

"Yes?" Ziva asked. Tony was nervous, maybe she doesn't like the idea, maybe it was just a fling? But he pushed the negative thoughts aside, "Can we make a promise?" He asked her back. Ziva untangled herself from Tony's arms and sat up, looking at him weirdly, but it softened and her facial expression was asking 'What?' . So Tony also sat up and looked at her in her heart melting brown eyes. "Paris, it should change us, well at least it changed me. But this is the only place where we can prove our love for each other without anyone going against it or bothering us."
