I pull my light jacket tighter around me in the early morning light. There’s a soft frost on the grass and trees. The tree’s bare branches sway in the low breeze as the last fallen leaves on the ground crunch under my feet. I can hear soft whispers from the trees, as if they were telling a huge secret that no one else should hear. The street was deserted except for a few dogs chained up in their yards. My cheeks were a rosy color and my golden blonde hair hung loosely around my earmuffs and sparkled softly from the frost. I didn’t care that my hair was becoming wet and my nose was getting frostbitten, I was determined. Suddenly i heard soft footsteps behind me. I turned hesitatingly to see…… No one. I looked for a moment more before shrugging it off and continuing to my destination. Then i heard it again, soft pitter pattering behind me. I looked and saw a cloaked figure walking slowly behind me. I started walking faster but the figure kept pace. Soon i was jogging. Then i was running. I didn’t glance back again until i reached the end of the road. I turned really quickly, Fear in my eyes, Making me forget what i was there for. The figure was gone. I breathed a sigh of relief which turned quickly to agitation. “Man!” I thought. “What was i doing?”. Suddenly something attacked me and the world turned to darkness.

"Honey?" A voice asked, "Are you ok?". I slowly opened my eyes and saw a doctor looking person hovering over me. "Yes." I replied. She didn’t seem to hear me. She turned to another doctor type person. "I think…." She paused looking at a familiar woman. The woman was crying. Wait….. Mom? I had never seen her cry before. "Hey mom, i’m awake, see? Don’t cry." They continued ignoring me. I lifted my head up and said, "Hello?" Except, I didn’t. I guess i just thought it. Or, what? What was going on?! "I think she’s dead." "No, I am not!! Stop talking like i’m not here!!" I shouted as loudly as i could. No one heard me. "It’s time to let her go." My mother nodded through her tears and looked away. The doctor came over and whispered in my ear, " Are you awake?" I said, "Yes." in a whisper, but somehow knew she could not hear me. She turned sadly and went to the machine keeping me alive. I was crying uncontrollably, or so i thought, As her slender hand pulled the plug. Everything became vivid. Then the door opened. Sarah walked in. My sister. I remember now. "My….My…..Sister, Sarah." I said the last word in a soft whisper. My mom was crying knowingly. The doctor looked shockingly. "What have i done?" She said. Then i fell into my never ending sleep.
