I am a beautiful liar.

10.

6:00am . . .Incheon . . . Seoul . . . South Korea

Jimin woke up to the loud ringing of his phone. He glanced at his clock which read six am. Who would be calling him at this hour? With a groan, he rolled over and answered it.

"Hello, this is Park Jimin?" said Jimin drowsily. He sat up when he heard the hoarse voice on the other end.

"Jimin-ah . . . I need you to meet me at Olympic Park as soon as you can." Whispered Yoongi.

"What for?"

"I want to watch the sunrise with you." He said. Jimin sighed.

"Alright." Agreed Jimin, standing up to slip some clothes on. "Yeobo . . . what's wrong?"

He was addressing the hoarseness in his voice. "Just come to the park. Please." Was all his reply. Jimin nodded, said goodbye, and started getting ready.

6:23am . . . Olympic Park . . . Songpa-gu, Bangi-dong . . . Seoul . . . South Korea

Jimin and Yoongi walked hand in hand along the path, passing by early morning joggers and bikers. Yoongi wasn't talking and Jimin sensed not to either, just to enjoy this moment. They were reaching the large pond when Yoongi turned around and held Jimin's hands, the sun just starting to stretch it's wings across the open earth.

"Park Jimin . . .have I ever told you how much I care about you?" said Yoongi, the last part fading into a whisper. Jimin frowned.

"Of course, Yoongi." He mumbled back. Yoongi smiled and suddenly, large tears were gushing out of his eyes as his face shook with silent sobs. He kept his lips pursed to try and stop the tears but once it became too much, he wrapped his arms around Jimin. He gripped the highly confused Jimin as he sobbed into his shoulder.

"I-I don't want to go . . . they have to know . . . they have to . . . " Yoongi hiccupped and Jimin furrowed his brows.

"Go where, yeobo? Who has to know what?" whispered Jimin. Yoongi buried his face in Jimin's chest.

"Jimin-ah . . . I'm leaving today." Choked Yoongi. Jimin was overcome with a sudden wave of shock and sadness, feeling as though he had been punched in his stomach.

"You . . . but Yoongi-ah -"

"I know, Jimin, I know." Whimpered Yoongi. "But Ji-Jiminie . . ."

He stood up and pressed Jimin's cold hand to his wet face. "I was never real, Jimin-ah."

Jimin frowned at this. "Yoongi, that doesn't -"

"It makes perfect sense. I was never real, flower. I will never be real."

Jimin shook his head. "I can feel you, I can see you, what are you trying to say? Was our relationship not real? Are you breaking up with me?"

"No, our relationship was as close to real as I've ever been." Said Yoongi. "I'm not real, Park Jimin. Min Yoongi never existed."

The sun had started traveling up the path and towards them. When the light touched the tip of Yoongi's boot, a trail of cherry blossoms started weaving their way up his toes, covering it entirely. Jimin stared.

"Wh-what the fuck is that!?"

Yoongi has resorted back to sobbing. "I told you, Jimin. I'm not real."

Jimin stared, eyes stinging. "How can you say that? Of course you're real! Yoongi, please, I'm scared . . ."

"I know, Jiminie, I know . . ." Yoongi whispered and brought the now crying Jimin to his chest.

"I don't understand, Yoongi."

"I'm a spirit. A spirit who's sent to a human to get them back onto their path of fate." Yoongi explained. "I help people who've strayed from their path."

Yoongi stepped back and cupped Jimin's tear streaked face. "Jimin . . . what happened to you?"

It all came rushing back. A serge of emotions and memories he'd pressed deep, deep in his memory. Jimin burst into tears.

"It was three years ago . . . my younger brother . . . he went out with friends and he-he . . . he was just a kid . . . he was fifteen . . . we went to the same high school . . . he was so kind and gentle a-and -" Jimin choked off and gripped Yoongi's arm. "He was hit by a drunk driver and killed along with his girlfriend."

Yoongi wrapped his arms around Jimin again. "He was my best friend . . . he was everything I wasn't . . . smart, tall, a good kid who never went out past his curfew like his idiot older brother . . . I never recovered. I thought that if Jiyung wasn't allowed to live . . . neither was I." Jimin lifted his t-shirt revealing a huge white scar along his abdominal.

"Oh Jimin . . ." Yoongi whispered and pulled him back in his embrace.

"They got me to the hospital before I could bleed out like I wanted. I hadn't realized my mom was home. I-I didn't try again after that until . . ."

"Until the incident nine months ago." Finished Yoongi.

"Y-You know?" asked Jimin, his voice shaking.

"I've been trying to randomly bump into you since December nineteenth. That day ring a bell?" asked Yoongi.

"The day I was released from the hospital." Mumbled Jimin.

"Recovered from what?"

Jimin gripped his arm. "Overdose."

Yoongi gripped Jimin tightly. "I'm so sorry, flower."

"I thought that, I thought that with you, I was better. I stopped having those thoughts, I wasn't depressed anymore . . . but now-"

"That's what I was sent here to do, Jimin. To lead you back to that path of happiness. To resurface those emotions that had been lost." Yoongi said, stepping away from Jimin.

His whole lower half was covered in the cherry blossoms.

"Yoongi -" Jimin cried, terrified.

"I know, I'm leaving soon." Yoongi said, watching the sun slowly peak over the hills and up his body. He turned back to Jimin.

"But you don't understand." Yoongi whispered. "This is the first time I've fallen in love with my human."

Jimin paused as the cherry blossoms enveloped Yoongi's shoulders and weaved up his neck. The sun was rising too fast.

"Park Jimin . . . I love you . . . saranghaeyo . . ." Yoongi whispered and walked forward. He was close. Too close. Jimin was sobbing.

"I love you too, Min Yoongi. Real or not real." Jimin whispered and leaned up. He touched his lips to Yoongi's for the first time. He could feel the tickle of cherry blossoms on his chin as they started covering his face and neck.

"I love you . . . I love you . . ." whispered Jimin over and over again as their lips glided over each others. Yoongi broke the kiss, smiling.

His entire face was nearly covered in now glowing cherry blossoms.

"I love you too, Park Jimin . . ." and he was gone. A tornado of cherry blossoms floated into the sky, leaving the sidewalk empty.

Jimin stared at the empty spot and listened to the silence of morning.

Park Jimin fell to the pavement, and screamed in agony.
