So the new year started really awkwardly boring.

Normally, we would be out of the house by 20:30 latest, celebrating or rather watching others celebrate with fireworks and firecrackers and all that or maybe at a family friend's house whiling away time until it was finally 00:00 aka NEW YEAR *\0/*.

We never ever buy fireworks of our own but somehow we always end up lighting up some before the year ended.

But what did we do this year ?!

I was glued to my phone screen sending new year greetings to "friends" and getting annoyed every time my wifi disconnected itself without me doing anything, which happened like every 5 minutes !! -_-

At 23:38 I found that I hadn't even taken a bath yet, probably because I had woken up at 14:33 to my sister listening to Omawumi on YouTube and my brother keeping himself busy in some way- he always finds something to do and if not, he's probably also glued to his phone-, so I wasn't missing out on anything big.

After like an hour of arguing with my brother on what brunch should be, he decided to make fish fingers and hot pudding for himself, my sister helped herself to her usual bowl of Cornflakes and being the last I was left a sachet of hot pudding because my oh so nice brother couldn't be bothered to make some for me too.

"Where's daddy ??", I asked Jessica, my 17 year old sister.

You would immediately think we were twins if you saw us next to each other on the road, I mean we were the only light skinned members of our family, except for my mum but still.

"Dunno, in his room, in the parlor, sleeping...", she started not even looking at me until...

"Is that Cow milk in your pudding ?? If daddy catch you with so much in that small plate eeh !! Let me take small, no no don't mix it yet.. waiiit ! "

"waitii ! don't put the whole spoon in your mouth... don't !.. do you even hear word at all ?? mtcheeew !"

We grew up going to the same schools for almost all our lives, but since 3 years now, since she found out that she wanted to be an architect, we went our separate ways, her going to a college for engineering and me a science school.

Though she is a year and  seven months older than I am, she is but two proud centimeters taller than I am- depending on what shoe she wears- :P

"You guys should stop shouting, daddy is in the parlor !! "

And after like maybe 16 years of living together with us both, my 19 year old brother Ugo hasn't yet gotten used to our daily but necessary small fights... pfft !! He will never learn.

While eating, I played some of the new games I had downloaded the day before, including Pudding Monsters and Jelly Splash- for some reason both are about puddings, what's up with me and pudding anyways ?!!- ceasing the opportunity to show off my new games to my brother, frustratingly failing each time he looked at my screen !

Hours and hours flew by and all I did the rest of the time was watch a scene from 'The Colony'- where a guy was butchering another person's hand on a table in an underground 'fortress'-, help Ugo fix put the curtains back up after they had been washed, tried to learn Maths and Latin but ended up just writing a correction of my german test I was supposed to have submitted before the holidays, argue with my siblings and parents on when we would go back to visit Nigeria, where we would spend next year's Christmas, because dad didn't want us to spend it here in Austria, watch the film 'We are the Miller's'- which is a really stupid film I think- and last but not least sending new year greetings through Whatsapp and Facebook... taking us back to where I started.

The big highlight of the day though was that 15 min before 00:00 my parents woke up and called us out to start the year with prayer.

So we sang gospel songs till like 2 min before and then my dad led the prayer, while the plenty lights of fireworks flashed in through our windows.... and so 2014 has begun!

PS. : I went to bed sometime around 04:30 in the morning after writing this.

Heey ! this is my first real :P "book" so pleaaase be nice.

Sry if I made any mistakes, I'm still a bit excited at the moment :D

And since this is hopefully going to accompany me through every day of this year, not all chapters are going to have the same length sooo bear with me if one happens to be short and smile with me if another turns out long !!
