Big House, Small Town

I walked into my uncle's house and heard.... Laughter... I slowly closed the door and looked to my right.

 A lady with hair that was a light brown and porcelain pale skin. She wore a bright yellow blazer, a clean white dress shirt, and a black pencil skirt.

"Well, hi there!" She was a bit to cheerful. God bless it. 

My uncle was smiling, then he ran over to introduce us. 

"Lauren, this is Jo, my niece, Jo this is Lauren, um I guess girlfriend?" 

"You're right Thomas, we have been talking for a while about this."

"Uh hi." I said and blinked.

She smiled and hugged me.

"Oh you're just adorable!" She said happily and continued to tightly hug me like a cobra wrapping around it's prey.

She ended up cooking us dinner, which was nice change since we really haven't had home cooked meals in a while. She and my uncle talked and talked, so I just left and went to the backyard.I found Olive sitting in a tree close to the backyard, it wasn't apart of his property, it was in the forest. She looked over to me, then skillfully climbed down the tree to greet me. 

"Hey."

"Hey, why were you in a tree?"

"Oh. I was just hoping you'd come so we could like talk or something..."

"Sure."

"Who's the lady in your uncle's house?" 

"Her name is Lauren, she's my uncle's girlfriend."

"Ah."

We both stared at each other for a minute, her bright red eyes seemed to glow in the dark. The moon light reflected off onto her hair, making her look ghostly.

Olive smiled, then zipped her sweater up. 

"Well? Wanna go out?"

I turned about as red as a pomegranate. "W-What?"

"To look for clues of course."

"O-Oh. Yeah sure."

She gently took my hand, then led me to Maps's home. She and Kyle sat on the porch, talking about something. 

"Jo!" Maps chirped happily and ran over to us. 

Kyle sighed and got up, then walked over to stand with her. Olive looked a bit hostile.

"Hey Maps." I said and gave her a quick high five.

"Kyle said I can't go unless he goes..."

"Fine." Olive said, then curtly turned around and started to walk.

I followed her, and so did Maps an Kyle.
