"You will never know how much I despise you Anika, you will never know. You made me feel like a looser. My dad was dying and yet I only cared about my problems. I was drunk that night and couldn't even see him the last time." Shivaay said to himself as he came out of his trance and looked through his window only to find her opposite.
He looked at his phone, ringing as the tunes of his favorite Hindi song played. She loved this song and so did his dad. He saw his the name of the caller - Home and wondered why at 3 am , Mom was calling. Couldn't they let him be in peace. He was tired of answering things and not getting anything back in return. He was distorted. He looked at the glass filled with whisky and crushed ice and picked it up throwing on the ground. He got up and stumped hundred dollars on the bar counter and left the lounge.
"I love you Ani." He whispered as he dipped his face in the crook of her neck and inhaled the fragrance of her hairs.
And he now understand why she never said it back, was it because of his own self that he got betrayed? Or was it seriously his and love's bad timing that he always don't get it reciprocated back.
He came out of the longue trying to get a taxi.
"Shivaay. Stop where are you going?" And he looked up to see her, wearing a black dress - which he gave to her and he wondered if it was true.
"What Anika? Why can't you just leave my mind." He slurred.
"I am real Shivaay. And you are drunk." She held him from shoulders.
"Just leave!" And he pushed her back.
"I will but do you even realize the time? It's four at the morning." She shouted at him.
"So? Whatever I do. Just leave, I don't need you." He shouted back.
"But your family need you." And she forwarded him a bottle of water to drink.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked and all she did was give him some aspirin and made him sit in the car and drove him to his house and everything went in a blur until six in the morning as it took two hours to reach to his place and he was awoke and as he looked at Anika he yelled - "What the -" but was cut by her - "shut up! Just get inside and believe me all are with you." And he saw many cars around him.
Last he remember was his dad's funeral where he was uninvited and how his mother told him to get away.
He lothed himself for the hellish act he did unknowingly ignoring the call that night and couldn't help but blame her, for his misery and mostly his destiny to be so bad.
