After yesterday, my headache got worst until I have a runny nose and a fever. Even so I insist on going to school but my parents think otherwise. The perks of having both doctors as a parents means endless of medicine given to me. I was put to bed and had been given a two days off.

Although I only need one day off but I didn't argue further with them. And so here I am curl into my soft comforter thanking the genius who invent bed and warm blanket.

There was a knock on my door and Ethan head pops out. "Hey there sister. How ya' feeling?" The only one gaining benefit from all of this are Ethan. My dad gave him the permission to stay home to look after me but that brat was taking advantage of it. He's been playing and watching TV non stop. This is the first time he came up to check on me.

"What do you want Ethan?" I position my body to be comfortable as I speak to him.

"Well you see, since I usually don't have enough time to practice football, I thought why not now? But then I forgot that my poor lovely sister is sick." He touch his heart pretending to be hurting for me. I roll my eyes. God this drama queen.

I let out a chuckle when he got on his knees and glide across the room to kneel beside my bed. "O please please my dear sister. Won't you let me feel my short freedom?" He beg.

"Fine go ahead. But be sure to take care of yourself." He shot up and went for a hug before halting, stating that I was fill of germs.

I throw a pillow at him but he managed to dodge it. I smile when he let out a laugh. "Now go before I change my mind."

"Thanks Kylie. And you don't need to worry, I'll already call a babysitter for you." I didn't get to question him further when he ran outside my room to call someone.

My eyes almost pop out of my head when I saw Derek standing infront of my bedroom door.

I exchange glances with Ethan and he wink at me. I got you a hot one too, he mouthed at me.

My jaw drop, this kid is in a lot of trouble. Derek noticing our glances had a playful smirk on his face.

"I'm here at your service milady," he mock to bow down like an old butler do. Ethan laugh before exiting my room. And now I'm left alone with the devil himself.

He drag a chair and take a seat beside me. "Oh yes please do sit, make yourself comfortable while you're at it."  Note the sarcasm.

He raises his eyebrows. "Still fiesty as ever there Kylie," he stop and without me anticipating it his face is a mere inches away from me already.

"You see, this is how I get comfortable." I shriek before hiding my face in my comforter. I throw curses and threats at him, but he just laugh it off.

"I'll cook something for you so in the mean time try to get some rest." I feel his weight off my bed so I take the chance to peek. My face was growing hot but I'm not sure what was the reason. My heart is beating so fast that I need to convince myself it was because of the fever.

Damn you Derek.

Then I push everything away to welcome the darkness.

When I was wide awake, I smell the sweetest auroma lingering around the house. I climb off my bed, staggering a bit before I could walk a straight line. I climb down the stairs, following the scent like I was hypnotized by it. The kitchen door was open and I see a figure cooking. I mistook it as my mom with her apron on but it was a shocker when Derek turn around.

The minute he turn I burst out laughing. God wait until the whole school see this.

"Yeah yeah. You had your fun, now come eat. I made a special menu just for you." He rolls his eyes and I brush the tears off my eyes before making my way to the counter.

He push the bowl of soup towards me and look intently at me while I try it. "How was it?"

"Not bad there, Zender." A small smile tug at his features but he hid it the moments I look at him.

"Anyway, thank you for the trouble. I did not know my brother would call you out of anyone. I thought he would call Charlie." He went stiff when I mention Charlie, and I brush it away thinking I'm just imagining stuff because of the fever.

I dig in some more before stopping. I feel full already. When I try to put the bowl inside the sink, Derek stop me and order me to go get some rest. He sounded like my mom already.

"How did my brother contacted you anyway?" I was curious on how they met since I have never mention about Derek to my family. "We played football a few times already, and I told him you're my girlfriend." Instantly my hand shot and hit his back. It was the best move I've got in this condition.

"God, what's with you. Is this how you repay someone?" Derek rub his back like I've hit him with something hard.

"Oh man up. I know you could take more than that."

"That still doesn't give you the right to hit this perfectly sculp body. Or is that an act and another excuse for you to touch my body. Like what you see huh?" Derek continues on teasing me that he earn another second slap, this time at his chest.

He chuckles and move to the do the dishes.

I sat back on the counter, resting my head on the marble table. It was cool and soothing. I close my eyes, humming to a song that I have been listening for a while.

I couldn't remember what song it was but the rythm is stuck in my brain.

When the tap water finally stop I knew Derek was done with the dishes. It felt weird honestly being with him, letting him do the cooking and dishes because the last time I check we were ready to strangle each other.

What bother me the most is how natural this feeling is.

I look up staring again into those two pair of grey eyes that never fail to fascinate me. "Your eyes are beautiful." I blurted out before I can stop it.

I was expecting some kind of sarcastic remarks from him but what I did not expect was that Derek Zender was blushing. His ears was red as he turn his head side ways, shielding his face from me.

"You should let the man says this kind of things." He scoffed before continuing washing the imaginary dishes.

At that moment I can clearly hear the song that I've been humming at the back of my head.

Oh I found love where it wasn't supposed to be

Right in front of me

Talk some sense to me
