Dedicated to Ilsa because she came up with half of this a long time ago.
Summary:
Summer isn't normal. She sees things that other people don't. She knows they're real, but no one believes her.
Neil Freestone has anger issues and a passion to rule everything. However, his current kingdom isn't enough, and he seizes the chance to infiltrate Earth-- undetectable and undefeatable.
When Summer's dad goes missing, along with everybody's shadows, she knows she has to get to the bottom of things. With the safety of a mysterious gift, the help of several strangers, and the courage of a lion, Summer ventures into places unknown to save her dad, her friends, and above all-- the planet.
Behind the Scenes:
I really suck at writing those summaries. Oh, well.
So here's the basic plot. Summer's at school one day, and she notices these creatures stealing people's shadows. Other people notice the missing shadows, but don't believe Summer. So she goes home to tell her dad but her dad is gone. He left a note and a necklace with a stone in it. The note tells Summer to wear it for safety (and you can write the rest of the note with your imagination). So she does. Eventually she finds a portal. Don't ask how. That's what you decide. She goes into another dimension. This dimension is dictated by Neil Freestone, who treats people horribly, and this dimension is rundown and ugly and whatnot (also your decision). Or it could be magical and ruled by Queen Audrey and there are mermaids everywhere. Anyway. So Summer goes to find her dad, held prisoner. So why are there creatures? Well, let's say Neil Freestone needs some shadows to... either break the portal so he can get through, or maybe taking away shadows makes people more vulnerable, or he needs shadows to hypnotize people. Who knows. Also, Summer's necklace protects her from stuff taking her shadow. So basically Summer finds a way to stop this.
Other Options:
Names- Summer and Neil can have other names. This name generator is nice because although the names are weird, that makes them unique. I put the link in the comments, too. http://www.namegenerator.biz/random-name-generator.php
POV- It could be written in Neil's and Summer's perspectives, switching first person. This could get confusing. Or switch in third person. That would be better. Or, don't switch at all, just write from Summer's POV, first of third.
You don't have to tell me if you use this idea. It's a really stupid idea. That's why I put it on Wattpad. :D If you do end up writing it, though, I'd be interested to check it out.
