Isabella

"Okay class, today we will be learning about probabilities and improbabilities. It will be the last unit of our time together". An excited murmur filled my ears as the class slowly understood the implications of this sentence. The teacher continued. "Okay, quiet down now please. Im sure your all very eager about this new unit but we can only start it once the test is complete". The class grumbled an enormous grumble, obviously meant for the teacher to hear. Five minutes later and I was sitting face to face with our unit 4 test. It was on the basics of aeronautics and required a huge amount of math. Somehow the classroom managed to get so quiet I forgot that I was in fact in a class rather than some lone room with just me, my pencil, and this frustrating test. Slowly, like a turtle crossing a road, I got the test done, but not without my fair share of mistakes and mishaps. Eventually the time came that the whole class and I were finished answering so the teacher started to walk around and collect the tests. "Hey... hey Henry" , pretending to listen to the teacher talk about our next unit I managed to steal a glance at whoever said this. Looking to my left and there was a desk, behind which sat an intently staring Isabella. She was of average height and width but was a very pretty girl with dark grey eyelashes, brown eyes, and long hair freely flowing around her shoulders. One of my best friends in class. I leaned towards her trying to catch what she was saying. "- I know that there aren't many people that will get to go, only the best can. But if you go and I cant..." she trailed off. "Well I wanted you to know that Im with you, Im with you all the way...". And just like that, I knew, I knew this was all a dream. Isabella hadn't said that, this was the nice version, the version I had always wished she had said, but she hadn't! But by god do I wish she had. I tried to look up, or anywhere other than at her. I couldn't, It came, exactly like I always remembered, I wanted to close my eyes but still, I couldn't. Like a door blowing off its hinges the wall came off its foundation, A solid bang that I can still hear to this day. In the milliseconds of time the bang could be heard, it shook everything, so deep and resounding, bouncing across every wall, It already knew what was going on. It was mocking me, and I knew it in those few milliseconds that the bang was death on my doorstep.

The force of the explosion drove everything to my right. Isabella and I were still watching each other when it happened. The wall a few feet to Isabella's left shattered, like glass. My body reacted without me, I curled into a ball just as I felt the full force of the blast. It lifted me out of my wooden chair and pushed me insanely fast towards the wall on my right. Just before my body completed the formation of a ball to protect myself I saw Isabella again. She looked to me and mouthed something. To this day I don't know what she said. Everything sped up, I traveled the last ten feet to the wall and impacted. Rubble of many desks landed on me covering me completely. I went unconscious, laying only a few feet away from a dead Isabella and many of my classmates. At one point this was a dream but all to quickly it was a nightmare, and the nightmare popped, like a bubble. I woke up.

Admittedly a bit of a short chapter but I think it still holds a lot of importance. I hope all of you liked it and comment about it.
