Feet cemented to the ground,
I watch as the seasons change and the world shows its colors.
That warm, welcoming summer breeze, now a cold and sharp blast of wind tearing at your skin in the most blissful way.

I close my eyes and listen. Trying to hear the music carried in the wind from the far corners of the earth.
"Peaceful" I think to myself.
Opening my eyes I see a world, pale and still. Almost like it has frozen in place but continues to move.

As much as I'd like to move, to take a simple step, I cannot. My feet, once cemented to the ground are now frozen. Trapped in one spot. Doomed to watch the people pass me by, on their way to live a life that I will never get the chance to understand. My life, spinning circles. Same place, different people but they are also the same.

Not one person with too many differences than the last. Same conversations, same places, same seasons.

Oh tell me please, what is it like to breathe? What is it like to hear the music the world plays and to be able to dance to it? What is it like to close your eyes in one place and to open them in another?

What is it like to live?
