The Birth Of A Hero

Jacob, 1 week old, had been born with a condition that makes his brain develop faster, and his bones develop faster, stronger, and more durable than any human ever seen.

His mother thought that he would die young, due to his "condition." When his mother found out the news, his mother instantly thought he would die. She started crying.

"Hey, don't worry. He will be fine." Jacobs dad Mike said to his wife, hoping that it would calm her down.

"How am I supposed to be calm Mike? He could die!" Jacobs mother Marie said.

"I know, I guess we just have to wait and see."

Jacob grew to be very strong, unbelievably fast, smart, and never broke a single bone. He won every dodgeball tournament that his parents signed him up for, he broke the school record for the fastest ran mile, in under 5 minutes.

Just in 14 very short years, he was in High School. He had broken numerous school records. Smartest student in the country for his age level. He was outstanding.

"Look at him Mike, he is amazing. I can't believe I thought that he wouldn't make it." Marie said, sitting on a leather couch positioned by the window. Jacobs house was very modern, 2 bedroom, 2 bath. Jacob was a big gamer, so his room had many posters of games that he liked.

"I know, he has grown to be my biggest accomplishment in my life."

"Jacob!" His mother yelled from the window. "It's dinner time!"

"Ok, Mom!" Jacob yelled back.

I then started back to my house. I was very excited about dinner. Nothing beats my Moms pot roast. When I closed the front door, my dog, Milo, had meet me before I got my Nike shoes off.

"Hi Milo! Did you miss me? I missed you!" I said in a baby-like voice. I was walking up the carpet covered stairs that we just added. When I sat down at the dinner table, we said our prayers then had small family chat. Sadly, I was the only child. So I was quite lonely, although I always felt the there where a few people by me all the time.

A while after dinner, it had been time for bed. When I settled down in my comfy bed, I fell asleep faster than usual.

"I think it's time." A deep voice said.

"No way Hades, he's not ready." A strong, but girly voice said.

"He's right Athena, it's time." A strong husky voice replied.

"Are you serious Ares? Last time we sent someone this young, he was killed in a second." Athena said.

"Athena, it's time."

Athena inhaled sharply. "Fine, then we should visit him in his dream tonight. Agreed?"

"Agreed."

"Agreed."

Jacob was having a really good dream, he was playing his favorite game, Rocket League. He was in the World Championship. He had won with 1 second left keeping the ball up in the air, he was tied. He had air dribbled it from his side of the field, passing it right by the defender, winning the $125,000 grand prize! He was going back stage when suddenly he was at home. Then, he heard a voice.

"Jacob, my name is Athena. This is Hades and Ares," she said gesturing towards them. "We need to tell you something. Have you ever wondered why you were able to be the smartest, fastest, and strongest in the country? Well, you where birthed by a god, not your mother. We had wiped her, and your fathers memory, so they had thought they birthed you. You, are the son of Ares, and myself. We also have a mission for you. Ares will tell you."

"Son, we have grown upset with Zeus, he has become dangerous over the past centuries, and making horrible mass killings in the cities that we reside over. And your job is to kill him. We bring fourth gifts that will help you. But first, we need to train you."

"Ok, very funny." Jacob said sarcastically. "Alright, you guys only exist in fairy tales. So if you are real, what do you really have to tell me?"

"I told you he wasn't ready." Athena said.

"Jacob, this is not a game. This is serious." Hades said.

"Oh, you guys are serious? This is real?" Jacob said trying not to mentally decompose. "Ok. But, what about my family? What about my life?"

"Don't worry about that son, Athena will take care of it. Training starts when you wake up, so get some breakfast when you wake up. Then come outside."

"Wait, was that you guys that were always by me? Because I always had a feeling that there was someone with me."

"Yes, that was us."

"But I could never see you, what makes you think that I will be able to see you when I wake up?"

"Don't worry, you will be able to see us, I will make sure of it. But for now, get some rest, you will need it for tomorrow."
