Chapter 1
'Really smooth, Addie. Really smooth. How are you going to get away with this, huh?' I reprimanded myself internally.
I was bothered with a lot of things that I didn't notice I had already reached another pack's borders, but it was too late when I realized that I had already crossed it.
Trespassing in another's territory is definitely a big no in our community. You might get killed for doing so, unless you have the Alpha's permission. There are even packs who kills wolves just for trepassing. I just hope the pack in this territory isn't one of those packs.
I was on my way back to the borders when I heard howls from the direction I was heading to earlier. 'They sure respond fast,' I thought. It wasn't even five minutes since I've crossed the borders.
I need to get out of here, and fast.
I darted as fast as my feet would let me, if only I could shift to my wolf, then I wouldn't be having a hard time right now. But can I really trust her not to go berserk in this area? Don't think so.
I continued running on foot until I reached a clearing. I can feel the border just a couple of hundred feet away. I'm almost there. Please don't let me be too late.
I stopped abruptly, almost earning myself a sprain, when I noticed their scent becoming stronger. They found me. This isn't going to end well.
One by one, wolves slowly came out from the thick covers of the woods. I glanced around me and counted, six.. no, seven wolves. Were they here to kill me? Oh right, I'm a rogue now. I chuckled in my head. I should be used to this already. But meh, only one way to find out.
I hear a wolf growl approaching from behind, making me turn around. There stood a huge black wolf, baring its teeth, looking ready to pounce on its prey. He was a pureblood, that I'm sure of. He contined glaring and growling making me roll my eyes.
I bit my tongue reeling the words that threatened to leave my mouth. I'd probably say something stupid and get myself killed, probably something like.. "Oh please, am I really that huge of a threat? I'm in human form for fuck's sake." Oops. I sighed. There I go again. Why can't I just keep quiet for a minute and maybe they'll be good to a little girl rogue like me?
The wolves around me crouched, some showing me their huge fangs, ready to kill the prey in front of them. If they thought I wouldn't give them a fight, they thought wrong. I could probably take all of them down, not sure about the black one though. He's a pureblood and an Alpha like me.
The black wolf went behind a tree and came out in human form. He glared at me and stared. But I didn't submit earning me a menacing growl. He had the most gorgeous grey eyes I've seen though. Too bad I'm about to fight him and may end up killing him. Poor little silver orbs.
"You're trespassing, rogue," he spat.
Duh, don't you think I know that already? "No shit, Sherlock. You don't say?" Giving him back a glare of my own. If looks could kill, I would have died a hundred times on the spot. "Stating the obvious doesn't get us anywhere, Alpha. I suggest we skip to the fighting part and be done with it."
He chuckled. The guy in front of me chuckled! Bastard. "You think you stand a chance, Rogue?"
"Only one way to find out," I smiled innocently. He seemed amused by this and didn't say anymore. He looked at the wolves around, probably instructing them what to do. Slowly, everyone went behind a tree and shifted back to their human forms.
