I Got Adopted By Shoey?!

I wake up to the same purple room with white polka dots everywhere. Same faint sound of music playing downstairs and the smell of my mom cooking breakfast. Same summer morning.

I get up and go to my closet. Mom always says "the earlier you get dressed, the earlier we get to work!" I never know what that means cause we never do any "work"

I pick out some white short shorts with a black tang top and a loose teal vest over that and some black toms. I go to my mirror and see the same lightly curled, dirty blond hair, same green eyes and tan skin.

I go down the stairs and follow the beautiful scent of my moms pancakes. The California morning sun shined through all of the big windows looking out over LA. I smile when I enter the kitchen and see my mom dancing while she cooks.

Mom: hi Andy! How many cakes you want?

Yes, my name is Andy and I'm a girl. My mom wanted my name to be different than the average girl. Her sweet southern accent always sounded heavenly in the morning.

Andy: 2 please with a scoop of eggs please!

I went to the breakfast bar that had the biggest window in front looking At the beach in the distance. My mom served us breakfast and sat down by me.

Mom: so, what's the latest news?

Andy: well, Harry styles has a lot of tattoos now, Miley Cyrus likes to stick out her tongue too much. Joey Graceffa is now making storytellers. Shane Dawson is more funny than anyone! Joey and Shane said they have a big announcement on the 15th. And that's about it.

Me and my mom always talk about all the main "gossip" at breakfast. It gives us a good laugh.

Mom: alright, you took some of mine... Jason Derulo is making a comeback with his song Marry Me. Wrecking ball made the top 10 on the charts. And One Directions hair has changed a lot.

Andy: hahaha I love you mom!

Mom: I love you Andy!

I was the only child in our house. When me and my mom were almost done with all of our food, my dad walked in.

Dad: well, looks like the two most prettiest women in the world finished breakfast!

I smiled, my dad always started the day with a compliment to me and mom. He kissed my forehead followed by moms.

Andy: I love you daddy!

Dad: I love you sweetheart!

I took care of my plate and rinsed it in the sink.

Dad: well, I'm off to work! Do want a ride to the gym?

Mom: yeah, Andy?

Andy: yeah Mom?

Mom: Krista will be here in 15 minutes, I will be home in about 2 and a half hours.

Andy: ok, bye mom, bye dad!

Both: bye!

They both walked out the door and got in the car, I did a final wave and watched them pull out. For some reason, I just did not want them to leave, I didn't want them to leave me... Even though mom would be home in 2 hours...

Krista: let's watch the news and see what's new!

Andy: ok!

We both sat on the couch and turned on channel 8 news.

News man: breaking news! A couple in a red Subaru were hit head on by a semi. The man is not identified yet but is announced dead. The woman isn't identified but not announced dead. We go to the scene now,

News woman: thank you Blake! Well as you can see behind me, there is still a lot of rubble from the crash. The couple were found, the man already dead and the woman not moving. They have not been identified but they will when they arrive at the hospital. More news on this later. Back to you Blake.

Krista looked over at me but I kept my eyes on the screen. My parents had a red Subaru...

Krista: don't worry Andy, it's not them.

The phone rang.

Krista: hello?... This is krista, her babysitter..... No... No that's not....it wasn't... Ok.... Thank you....

She was beginning to cry, I knew.

Krista: Andy, it was them in the crash. And they announced both dead...

Andy: no! NO!!!! MY PARENTS ARENT DEAD!!!! THIS IS NOT REAL!

Krista: Andy.... Let's go,

Andy: where!?

Krista: to the hospital...

That drive was the worst one in my life, we past the crash on the way. I put my hands on the glass and bawled. It was real. I saw the rubble, the semi barely damaged, the skid marks on the road from when my dad slammed on the brakes.... When he was still alive....

We arrived at the hospital and got their room number. I stood outside the room and froze.

Krista: come on Andy.

She dragged me in the room and I saw them. Two lifeless bodies. One my beautiful mom and my incredibly handsome dad. I walked over and stared at my mom then my dad and back and forth. I jumped on my mom and cried.

Andy: mommy, I love you so much! I never wanted you to go! Mommy!

I put my head on her chest where I would normally hear her heartbeat but didn't.

I looked over to my dad. I jumped on him next.

Andy: daddy! I will miss you so much! I love you so much! I always loved how you said hello to me and mom in the morning in the happiest mood, your goofyness when you got home. How you would always walk through the door and pick me up and kiss me on the cheek when you got home. I love you daddy!

I went back over to mom,

Andy: mommy! I will miss your morning pancakes that were always perfect, your beautiful voice that you used to sing to me when I had nightmares, the warm hugs when you were proud of me. The way your soft hands rubbed away my tears, the late night movies on the couch and how we would always cry together at the sad parts. The massive amounts of tissues we would go through. Most of all, I love you!

I pulled away and went to Krista that was now bawling.

Andy: it's ok krista... They're in a better place!

Krista: no they're not, they don't have you anymore...

Andy: I know and I don't have them!

I started bawling again, I couldn't calm down as fast as I though I could...

I sat alone in between mom and dad holding both of their hands. I thought about where I was going to live... My grandparents died before I was born, my parents didn't have any brothers or sisters. I had no body.... I guess I would have to be put in an orphanage...

A brand new life without my beautiful house overlooking LA, without my beautiful room with a big porch to sunbathe in. No real relatives to stay with.... A brand new life....
