I carried the heavy boxes into my bedroom and I looked around at my surroundings. I was finally starting university. I had got accepted to study abroad at the London film school. It was my dream to be a film director , and London was the perfect place to go.
My dad was thrilled for me. My mom on the other hand doesn't think I will make it here. All throughout Highschool I was anti-social. Yes I had a small group of friends, but I wasn't really a people person. I would rather stay in my room watching movies , tv shows ,blogging on tumblr ,and writing stories. I have always been like this. The only problem for me is making friends.
"Your dad brought in the last of your boxes. I am proud of you Elena." My mom pulled me into a hug. I could feel her Chanel bag digging into my side.
"Thanks mom."
"Okay so your dad and I are going back to our hotel. Your orientation is tomorrow at one. Now Elena please try and make some friends tomorrow. School doesn't start for a week and it would be nice if you knew some people going in." She told me this all the time. I just shrugged it off and told her I would try.
"Hey kiddo." My father walked into the room. He was wearing a black suit and his hair slicked back. "Your going to do great here. I can already see your name plastered everywhere : Elena Rhodes." My dad was insanely awesome. He understood me the most out of my family.
"Thanks dad." I gave him a kiss on the side of his stubbly face.
"Here ,don't tell you mom." He slid me a sleek black credit card. "Don't make me go broke now." Yeah because your like a millionaire.
"We love you and we will see you soon."
I hugged my parents goodbye and before I knew it I was standing alone in my flat. I walked around looking at it. It was a modern apartment with an industrial feel. It had a open floor kitchen and living room. I had three rooms in my flat, which I had no idea what to do with. I hung up the last of my picture frames. It was me with all of my friends at the beach when we hung out. They said they would visit me when they had the chance to. I hope it would be soon.
I decided to go to bed early. I was still coping with my jet lag. It was a huge pain in the ass. I stared up at my ceiling. The t.v was reflecting on the chandiler over my bed. I just stared at the colors until my eyes couldn't keep open.
________
I walked into the building of my new school. Everything was so clean and crisp. Pictures of movie posters covered the walls. Trophies in cases along the hallways were out for show. I looked down at my paper for directions. I needed to find room 127. I probably looked like a lost puppy trying to find its owner. After 10 minutes of walking I finally found it. I walked into the room. It was not what I expected. Couches and chairs were scattered around. This was defiantly different. I took a seat in a chair. I didn't want to get stuck next to a bunch of people. People started flowing in and taking seats. Some of them greeted one another. I did this weird thing where I profiled people. I would guess their life stories. This is where I would take note if I likes someone or not. That sounds bitchy but I was always right.
I noticed a girl sit next to me. She was pretty. She had short brown hair and was super tan. "Hey I'm Alice." She turned to me and put out her hand. I shook it.
"I'm Elena."
"You must be new here judging by your accent." If I was correct she was from Austraillia.
"Yeah it is." I said with a smile.
"You will love it here. This is my second year."
" I can not wait to start. Usually you can't get me to do anything , but if it involves film I'm on board."
