*Mike's POV*

It's Saturday afternoon and I'm in my room with Scarlette and Vic. They're still not exactly talking to me. We were up until 2am cleaning but we only managed to clean up the kitchen and outside, but the hallways, dining room and living room is still trashed, including a hole in the wall. Our parents will be home in around an hour.

"Vic... Scarlette..." I sigh guiltily staring down at the floor. "I'm sorry. It was a selfish thing to do and I don't know what I was thinking... I'll take full blame because it's what I deserve for this mess... I'm sorry I hurt you Vic and you too Scarlette and I swear... I swear on my life I'd never want to do it on purpose... I'm sorry Vic... I'm sorry Scarlette." I realized that in physically hurting my big brother, the one who would look our for me most, I emotionally hurt my little sister, the one I'm supposed to look out for and protect. I hurt them both and I can't bear to look up and see their disappointed faces.

Suddenly a little dark brown-haired head blocks my view of the floorboards and a pair of arms wrap around my waist. "It's okay Mikey... We know you didn't mean it... We forgive you." Scarlette's timid little voice echoes through the room. I hug her back, tears filling my eyes. How could I have hurt her? How could I have hurt Vic? But more importantly, how could I be so stupid as to throwing that party? I look up at Vic who still looks a little cross, but sympathetic too. Vic is one of those people who can read you like a book.

Scarlette pulls away and sits on her bed with a grin. "I can't say your party was a complete screw up Mike." she says blushing. Vic looks down at her from his bunk it disbelief. "Are you serious?!" He says. Scarlette grins like an idiot. "Well... up until Tony walked in on us saying you two had gotten into a fight." she continues. Walked in on what? And with whom? "Woah woah woah, wait. Who's 'us' and what was going on?" Vic says more protectively. She smiles and bites her lip, mumbling happily. "Jaime kissed me... and then I kissed him back." She says turning pinker. My jaw drops in disbelief. Vic is grinning and hits her with his pillow. "No way!" he laughs. He seems happy but I'm not thrilled. I didn't think they'd take their crushes on each other seriously. "He did what?!" I say in disbelief.

Just then we hear the front door open. We all shut up and listen to the footsteps. I hold my breath and brace myself for what's coming.

"OH MY GOD!" my mother shrieks, horrified at the state of our lounge room.

I sigh "Well that's my cue. I'll be back if they don't kill me." I say as I head towards the door. "They most likely will." Vic says. I look at him and shrug. Scarlette sits there on her bed, looking scared for me. "Be careful Mike okay? Even if it is just mum and dad..." she says. I smile and ruffle her hair a little. "I will Scar." And with that final comment, I head to the lounge room.

"Uh... Hey Mum... Hey Dad..." I say, attracting their attention immediately. My mothers eyes are full of fury. "You'd better start explaining." My father says. I rub the back of my neck awkwardly. "Well... I kind of threw a party and it got a little out of hand and I-"

"A little?!" My mother exclaims in shock.

"Okay maybe a lot! Anyway um... Scar and Vic were studying and then they came home and-"

"Scarlette and Victor!" My father shouts, calling them in. Vic is hugging Scarlette protectively.

"No! Wait! It wasn't their fault! They came and Vic tried to get me to call I off but I was kind of drunk and didn't listen and-"

"You were drunk?!" My mother gasps in disbelief.

"No! Well, yes. But not so drunk to the point where I couldn't walk! Anyway um... Vic was trying to get me to call it off and everyone circled around us and they were all shouting "Fight!" and Vic was trying to walk away but I shoved him a few times then I um... I punched him... in the stomach."

My mother gasps. "You what?!" Then she look at Vic who sort of just nods. "I swear, Vic and Scarlette had nothing to do with this. This was all my fault and if anything, they tried to stop me. Just let them go back to their room please." I sigh, looking down. I feel a hand much smaller than mine take my own. I look over my shoulder. It's Scarlette. Her eyes are full of fear. Vic's expression tells me that he isn't going anywhere. But my father says otherwise. "You two can go back to your room now." he says. Scarlette sighs and Vic leads her back. "C'mon..." he mumbles. I sigh and look back at my disappointed parents. There's dead silence for a moment.

"What the hell were you thinking?" My father says, breaking the silence. I shrug silently, ashamed of my actions. "We're disappointed in you, Michael. We honestly thought you knew better than that." My mother sighs. I feel even more guilty knowing I've let them down. "Your little sister looks up to you, Mike. And this is what you do. You're just lucky she wasn't around to see you punch your brother." My father says, shaking his head. I sigh. "She did... she was really upset" I admit shamefully. He sighs again and his stare is full of more disappointment. "You're her big brother, Mike. She looks up to you and Victor. What do you think she thought when she saw that?" he says. I sigh again, scratching my head. "I-I'm sorry..." My mother sighs and shakes her head. "Your father and I will need some time to think of a suitable punishment for you. For now, you can clean up the house. Starting with this room." Mum says. I nod and head towards the laundry, grabbing all the cleaning supplies I'll need.

As I clean, I can't stop thinking about Jaime and Scarlette. He seriously kissed her? And she kissed back? I can't believe it. I've never been too fond of their little crushes on each other because... well... It's weird. Having your best friend like your little sister, who happens to be about 3 years younger than him. And I don't want either of them to get hurt. Especially my little sister. If I hurt her, it's one thing. A terrible thing. But if someone else hurts her, especially my best friend, it's a whole other thing.
