Blind Date

Chapter 1: Adriana Taylor

      "Adriana you need to stop moping over Liam and start functioning as a normal person again. Come on, I miss the old you, I don't like the upset you that lives on my couch."

"You don't get it Carly! I thought he was, ya know, the one." I sobbed into my best friend Carly's shoulder.

"I know honey I know." Carly sighed as she held me in her arms and played with my hair.

My name is Adriana Taylor, but everyone calls me Age for short. I am a 24 year old grown woman, that just got cheated on, by my boyfriend of four years. I thought he was going to be the guy that I would marry,but I guess he had other plans. Since my big breakup, my life has seemed to almost completely, come crashing down on top of me. My ex took the apartment we shared, and so I now have none of my belongings and no place to stay. Well I really shouldn't say that I don't have anywhere to go, because luckily, my best friend, Carly Reynolds, and her fiance, Ryan Matthews, are letting me crash on their couch.

      Carly, Ryan, and I have all been the best of friends since the third grade. The two of them have always been there for me, no matter what. Carly and I were always super close. I honestly think she knows me better then I know myself. She is my best friend and I have never met anyone else that is, as extraordinary as she is. Ryan is my other best friend, we mess around, tease each other. The best thing about Ryan though is that he is very honest, he always tells me how it is. He doesn't try to spare my feeling or tweak the truth so it doesn't hurt as much. Well really now that I think about it that's more of a blessing and a curse. Bottom line is Ryan is hilarious,honest, and loyal. I have no idea what I would do without the two of them and I am very happy that they fell in love with each other, its just a lot cuter that way.

  "Hey, I'm home!"

"Hey babe." Carly said as she proceeded to kiss  Ryan on the cheek. "What's with the boxes?"

"Oh I just went and picked up all of Age's stuff."

"Aw, thanks Ryan, your the best!"

"I know I am."

"Wow, full of yourself much?"

"Okay! Okay you two, stop with the fighting , you know I don't like that."

Ryan and I turned to look at Carly, who seems to always be interrupting our childish fights. We all stared at each other as a silence fell over the room. Then as per usual the three of us burst into laughter.

I went into the kitchen to go get a snack,when I over heard Carly and Ryan talking.

"Ryan, are you serious?!"

"Serious about what?"

"Why did you bring all her stuff here? To sit in our living room? Because that's whats going to end up happening!"

"Well you know I figured she might need a few of her things? I was just trying to help. Jeez."

"Ry,we need to get her out of the house, and get her,her very own apartment."

"Carls, she isn't going to leave, you know that. She doesn't even have the money right now to afford an apartment."

"Well we need to do something to help her, because I can't stand her sleeping on the couch and turning my living room into a pig pen!"

"Jeez, okay, I get it, I was wrong you were right, okay are we done now?"

"Fine....Oh. My. God. Ryan."

"What?"

"I know what to do for Age."
