Luna-Maë POV

"Mom, Dad, I'm home!" I shouted, as I entered the house, throwing my backpack across the room in the process. It was Friday and school just ended for the year. I walked into the kitchen hoping to find my parents there, but instead I found a note on the fridge.

Luna~Maë,
Your father and I had to go on a quick business trip for a couple of weeks. There's food in the fridge, extra cash in an envelope on the table. The Beech's are just next door if you need anything. See you soon, Little Maë.

Of course they would be gone, they always are. I mean it's not their fault that they always work, cause the money gotta come from somewhere. Me of course being bored and have nothing else better to do, decides to text my best friend Loren Beech. Yes, as in the famous, Loren Beech. Loren and I have been best friends since the 1st grade and done everything together. Whipping out my phone, I pulled up Loren's contact and started texting her.

"Well, now that I have plans, I should get going." I said, running up to my room. I decided to pack a few thing, knowing that I would probably sleepover the night. By the time I was done, I ran back downstairs, grabbed my keys and made my way out the house. That's when I suddenly realize that I left my phone in the kitchen and ran back to get it.

The walk to Loren's house wasn't be that long since she only lived a couple blocks away from my house. I grabbed the spare key from my keychain, since I came over very often, and opened the door.

"Honey, I'm home!" I shouted, closing the door behind me.

"Coming dear!" Loren replied. Moments later, I get tackled into a huge bear hug by Loren.

"Finally, you're here! It's been so long since I last saw you!" she exclaimed.

"You literally saw me yesterday!" I laughed.

"I have the stuff you wanted in my room let's go!" Loren said, pulled me up the stairs.
