The harsh sunlight crawled its way into the medium size bedroom, disrupting my peaceful sleep.
I was hesitant to close my eyes, for I knew what I'd find.
An empty bedroom aside from myself, the smell of Kai lingering in the space next to me, only his body won't be there but his presence remains evident from the night before.
I knew. It was a routine he always kept.
Once he's sober enough to realize the mistake he has made, he'd slip from my fingers and retract until he's brave enough to face me again.
It could take hours, days, and even weeks.
Yet, I'd patiently wait for him, grasping on the belief that one day, he'll return the affection I crave.
The affection I deserve.
I knew it was wishful thinking,
I knew the chances are non-existent.
But I'll wait, until I can't wait any longer.
Even if I am merely a mistake.
