Background: Sometime back, you were forced into the dreaded hole of Mt. Ebott and ultimately, into the Underground, where you would be stuck in for as long as you could remember. Luckily, you weren't the only one who fell in; you had company. And that company was Frisk.
At first, you traveled with her through the Ruins, meeting Toriel and plenty of other monsters, but Frisk and yourself had to keep moving if you both wanted to get home. So, you both eventually brought up the courage to ask to leave, and through a struggle, Toriel gave in to your request.
When Frisk and you left to pass the door that separated the Ruins with the rest of the Underground, you both found that it was heavily packed with snow. As you both traveled across the growing level of snow, you found an abnormal structure that appeared to be a fence, but there wasn't much analysis as to what it was when he interrupted.
This was when you first met Sans, a skeleton that appeared at least nine inches taller than yourself and Frisk at the time. He introduced himself, brought you guys past Papyrus, and was gone before you knew it. Of course you saw him multiple times throughout the snowy region and eventually at Snowdin.
Frisk always seemed urgent to leave, and eventually convinced you to fight Papyrus, where you both spared him and returned to his house to become his friend. After the lighthearted hangout, you both exited to leave, but you hated every step that left Snowdin. You felt at home and at ease here, how could you leave?
Just as the fog began to thicken, you brought your concern to Frisk and after a long discussion about it, you both agreed to separate. Nothing awaited for you at the surface anyways.
Turning back, you headed to Snowdin, and over time, found a place to live just a little off of the civilization. Of course, you befriended Sans and Papyrus, eventually meeting all of the other monsters (Undyne, Alphys, Mettaton, etc.) that had already previously encountered Frisk upon her journey.
At some point in time, Frisk had broken the barrier and the monsters were officially free.
Currently, it's been roughly two years since the barrier was broken and all of your monster friends wanted to visit Snowdin for their second Christmas.

December 24th
You were walking through the snow, feeling your legs ache from the long walk, after all, you had to walk all the way from Asgore's castle to Snowdin. You weren't alone, thank Heavens. Frisk and Toriel had decided to tag along with you, helping with load of Christmas decor, presents, food, and other things. Everyone else was deciding to come a bit later, apparently they had some very important errands to run. You assumed that they were last minute gift shopping."I have never been so happy to see snow in all my life." You huffed and dropped everything at the step of the skele-bros' house. Immediately, you fell into the snow, feeling the cold nip at your back. You hardly cared. Relief began to flow into your arms and legs from the sudden loss of stress.
Frisk chuckled at your dramatic actions and dropped her stuff into the snow too. Her hands began to dig though her pockets, eventually fiddling out a key.
"Sans gave us a key to the house, so there's no need to stay out here." She jumped up the porch steps, now rustling the key within the keyhole.
"Thank goodness!" You exclaimed and sat up, laughing a bit at yourself. Toriel giggled too as Frisk swung open the door, causing everyone to pile inside in order to escape the cold weather. Until now, you didn't notice but the dampness of the snow began to seep through your sweater, causing you to shiver up a bit. "Dang, it's cold in here."
"Well, that won't be a problem. You should change, my child. It looks like the snow has really begun to soak through your sweater and we can't have anyone being sick with Christmas coming in." Toriel noted as a burst of fire appeared in the palm of her hand, immediately causing the room to heat up. "You can use Sans' or Papyrus' room. They're both open."
