Background: Your whole life you had excelled in the field of science, especially in the biology field. Nothing could keep you away from learning more about the structures of cells and organisms. Yet, what really made the idea interesting was the concept of magic.
Since junior high, you began a study between the similarities, differences, and the relationship of humans and monsters, but this study grew into something so much more than you had expected. Magic was a very complicated subject and concept to work with, especially because you were full human.
When you entered into your freshman year of high school, you started looking for internships to work at due to the lack of technology and supplies at home. Luckily, you landed a spot at a nearby facility that was pretty popular in the science industry; in fact, you worked under the one and only, Dr. Gaster.
When you first came in, he had his best assistant show you around, which happened to be Sans. He was nice and kind of shy, but he was intelligent.
*Sans and Gaster are NOT related in this one-shot!!!
Sans proved to be the best in his field, which mainly revolved around the concept of physics. You were determined to not be left unnoticed by this skeleton, so before anyone knew it, you had skyrocketed to being the best in your own field. Of course, both people and monsters in your field had accused you cheating but your work had proved them wrong plenty of times. You were simply better and willing to work whenever you were needed.
Because of your position, you found that you worked with Sans on many occasions, sometimes even going to each other's house to complete projects and other assignments. These encounters were normally pretty light-hearted and fun. You both would typically talk a lot about what happens at school, after all, you both did go to separate campuses.
Overtime, these conversations led to more than you what you had expected. Your heart became more attached to him, and before either one of you knew it, you both were in a relationship.
Just in time for the holiday season~

About a Week Before Christmas
It was quiet as you finished cleaning up your work box for the night. Your lab coat was folded neatly and rested peacefully upon the surface of your working table and your test tubes were glistening in the ceiling lights. Very few of the interns were still here in the facility, after all, most of them left about an hour ago. Glancing at your digital clock, you saw that it was 6:07pm. Cool.
Looking around, you snatched a couple of your belongings, one being your wallet. When you grabbed it, you felt yourself, almost mechanically, open it to reveal the small photo and index card inside. You smiled at the memory. Interesting how quickly life has passed.
Closing the wallet, you felt someone's arms wrap around your waist and their chin lean upon your shoulder. Immediately, you felt the warmth and happiness fill your lungs as you slipped your wallet into your bag.
"Hello, my Sweets." Sans' voice rumbled in a loving tone and pecked you on the cheek.
"Hello, my baby-bones." You giggled softly and returned the gesture. He still had his lab coat on, along with his thin, grey glasses, making him appear quite intelligent.
"You doing anything tonight?"
You took a moment to figure out of you had any plans.
"I don't think so. Why?"
"Wanna come over to my place? It's Friday and Papyrus is out of the house." He let out a soft smile as you grinned at the tone of his light pleading. You knew that your parents would be out of the house until this incoming Monday because they were out on vacation for a "business trip".
