You don't want to jack up your story and have more comments then votes, I get that. But you can't decide to reply to your friends who comment.
I don't care if you are fricking Madonna or Beyonce in disguise, reply to everyone. It doesn't have to be personalized, just a simple "thank you" would suffice.
There's no point for you to ignore everyone and then just reply when your friends comment. Reply to everyone or reply to no one, you can't get around it.
