1. When your kidnapper loved you so much :) that he kidnapped you twice :) :) :)

  Obviously I was freaking out.

Aubrey was unbelievable. I had no idea why she was so fucking unreal.

Plus, oh God, little girls were not supposed to call their father figures "Master". What the fuck?

Obviously I couldn't stay sane around Aubrey. So I looked around for Nam Ha, but Nam Ha had locked herself in her old white bedroom, to cry or something. I wasn't even surprised. Nam Ha was the only one who'd entirely rebuilt herself. Vietnam was her home. Nam Ha was the one who got reunited with her little sister and the love of her life... Just to get it all taken away from her.

And could we get out again? Could we ever escape again?

There were only two escape routes.

1. By getting teleported back by Tyson.

  2. Through the Border Control, by somehow sneaking past all the vampire warriors. Border Control let all vampires pass, but no humans. Ever.

Yeah. Long story short: we were so trapped. Probably for forever.

I wandered to the kitchen and sat on the counter, filling a cup of water for myself. That's when Nam Ha walked in.

Nam Ha looked bad. Her nose was bright red, firetruck red, and her skin was pink. She looked like she'd gotten in a boxing match and lost. Even straight black hair looked stringy and desperate.

"Chào," I muttered, in Vietnamese. "Hi!"

Nam Ha just shook her head. She frowned at me for a long moment. Then Nam Ha stole my water glass.

"Hey! I was going to drink that!" I protested, and Nam Ha just shrugged.

"Thanks for the water, Laurie. If Tyson comes back, please run and hide."

I laughed, softly. "Hey, it's all right," I said, filling a new cup of water. "Tyson can't smell you- or any of us. Maybe he'll get bored and let us go or something."

Nam Ha just stared at me. "He's a vampire. If Tyson was devoted enough to kidnap us twice, then he'll never let us go, Laurie. I hope you know that."

I forced a smile. "No, he'll get bored of us."

  "Nice optimism."

Nam Ha offered me a tired smile before walking away. I groaned and filled up another water, for myself.

Devoted? Tyson was hardly devoted. More like obsessed. That was more like it. He was so horrible... So stubborn... So stupid...

As I zoned out, I drank the whole glass of water. And that was my main mistake.

I guess I could say that the water tasted a little off. It tasted weirdly sweet, like there was something strange in it. But I didn't really notice. I figured it was just my imagination.

"Laurie," Tyson said, teleporting behind me. I turned around, and let out a scream.

Tyson's eyes were strangely wide, like they were going to explode. His eyes were like black holes. And for a full minute, I saw nothing normal in his eyes. I'd never someone who looked so ravenous.
