Have you ever had something happen that was so bad that all you think is, "Is there anything that can be worse than this?" And then something really bad happens? That's my life. My name is Winnie Forest. I'm twenty two years old and I have a very, well, interesting lifestyle. My sister, Luna, helps me along the way. We have a sort of business. We help people. Without the majority knowing. Kind of like insurance. Except worse. Death is a big part of our story. We have this thing that for some reason, the big guy doesn't want us to die. If we die, we come back. I have died six times and Luna has died five times. How? Well, we have a dangerous job. Okay, let me just cut to the point, we hunt monsters. Vampires, werewolves, almost anything. All around the world, monsters come and attack. Luna and I are set in America. We have been all around. It hasn't always been like this, though.

When I was seven years old and Luna was six, our father and mother were killed by a demon. That was one of the worst nights of my life. We were having fun, my aunt ,Natalie, came over and we were just playing games and watching movies. Suddenly, there was someone pounding on the door. I had gone to open the door, but Natalie pulled me down and told me to take Luna downstairs. I grabbed Luna and swiftly walked down to our basement. I closed the door behind us and tried to calm down. I didn't really know what was happening and as I started to calm, I heard my aunt pounding down the stairs after slamming and locking the door. She turned and I saw her. Her face was bloody and bruised and she had cuts on her arms , but she showed no notice or care. She grabbed my wrist and Luna's wrist and sprinted for the cellar door. It went so fast. Natalie locked us in there and Luna started to silently sob. After about an hour of silence, Natalie opened the door and we went upstairs. There was no noise and all I could see was red. Literally. There was blood everywhere. And then I saw my mom and dad. They were stabbed with a silver blade and it was still in their chests. Their eyes were burned out of the sockets with scorch marks surrounding the areas. I cried so hard and ran into Natalie's chest. All I could see was their open mouths as if crying out for help. After that, we were adopted by her and that's when the real story starts.

I didn't know until I was ten that my parents were hunters. I knew what a hunter was because Luna and I helped Natalie and some of the others hunt, but we didn't know about them. We mainly did the research but never worked in the field until we separately turned thirteen. Despite only being a hunter for a few years, we've done a lot of hunts. The most dangerous are usually Angels. They aren't some amazing, loving, accepting people. The best angels are the ones that are the outcasts. Heaven has lots of rules and forms. Once a person dies, they go to their own heaven. If they are married or have family, they usually go to them. They can't leave their heaven, or you can be punished. Luna and I don't know if we have gone to heaven or down under. We just wake up after three days. It's weird, but fun. The hunts we usually sit out are the ones that are connected to other hunters. Rarely hunters help hunters. We just do our own thing. One guy is kind of the best hunters. His name is Bobby. Whenever we need help, he's there. About twenty other hunters are connected to him, and probably more. He's the best.

Going to where I am now, it's complicated. Luna and I went on a hunt to kill a vampire nest and came back to Natalie missing. It's been a week, and no sign of her. We think she went to find this hunter named John. He was one of her friends from high school and recently went missing. He has two boys that are about my and Luna's age and hunt. We have never crossed paths and probably won't. Luna and I have found a few hunts to calm us, but it doesn't work. On top of that, I've been feeling weird back pains by my shoulder blades. I don't know why, but it makes my job a lot harder. All these crappy things keep happening and on top of it, we are out of coffee. Even I think it can't get worse.
