Alexander sniffled, burying his face further into the scarf that was wrapped around his neck. It was a cold day out, frost covered every window and snow fell onto the streets of New York and while a lot of people seemed to enjoy it Alexander definitely did not.
All Alexander wanted to do was get to the closest Library to him without freezing his ass off, but clearly winter came early in New York and he couldn't figure out if it was because of climate change or because some higher power hated him so much that they had to make it snow during November.
People were rushing around the streets trying to get to work or trying to get their Christmas shopping done early. Alexander never understood why people rushed so much in the city, especially now considering snow and ice were on the ground. And although he had to admit seeing people fall down was probably the highlight of his day, he hated the fact that they pushed him out of the way as if he just insulted their mother.
Sighing to himself, half in annoyance, half in "thank fuck," Alexander finally saw the lights of the Library sign. Pushing his way through the busy streets of New York he opened the door to the library. The bell dinged as he opened the door. A pleasant gust of warm air hit him, which Alexander noted was drastically different from the harsh, cold wind that was outside. He shivered, closing the door behind him and holding his messenger bag closer as he walked in. Another thing he noted was that the Library was incredibly cozy. Comfy couches and chairs with throw blankets thrown over them were sorted all throughout the building and white fairy lights hung from the ceilings and walls. The bookshelves were filled to the brim with books, the scent of cinnamon and coffee floated through the air, and at the counter there was a guy whose head was hung low as his hand moved frantically over a piece of paper.
The worker looked up when he seen Alexander walk in.
"Hello," he said, sending Alexander a smile, "Welcome to Washington Library, my name is John. If there's anything you need help with just come up, I'll be here all day,"
Alexander's breath caught in his throat. The worker, John, was beautiful. His hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, his face was covered in freckles, and his smile was enough to brighten anyone's day.
Realizing the he was starring, Alexander sent John a quick smile back, "Thank you, John,"
John just nodded as he looked back down at his drawing, leaving Alexander to just roam around. Once he found the right spot, which was almost right by the desk because he may or may not have wanted to see John's face, he sat down and pulled out his laptop. It was quiet for a few moments, until all that could be heard was the sound of Alexanders fingers on the keyboard of the laptop.
At the desk, John had just finished up his last detail on his drawing when he had gotten a text messages from the group chat he's in with his work buddies, Lafayette and Hercules Mulligan. Opening up his messages, he looked at the recent ones.

Me and Laf are gonna be late. Cover for our asses if Washington comes.
John chuckled, looking up at the guy who had come in earlier. He hasn't moved since he gotten there. The only reason John knew he was still there was because he could hear the sound of him frantically typing.
John had only now realized how attractive this guy was. The guys hair was down to his shoulder, he had glasses on, and he had on a hoodie and a pair of jeans. Making sure not to show that he was starring John looked back down and texted the group chat.
