This Changes Everything

"Who was he?"
"Oli, he's one of my mates from school."
"Yeah mate" My mother says air quoting around mate.
"Mom it was just a mixup with Skye nothing happened"
"What do you mean mixup?"
"When Matt wanted to go to the cinema, all four of us were going, but Matt and Skye bailed on us."
"So you were at his house too?"
"Yeah but his parents and brother were there bugging us, so even if we wanted to we couldn't."
"Are you saying you would?"
"Do you want me to?"
"No, at least not yet."
"Are you saying it would be okay with you if I dated Oli?"
"Maybe. But you would have your father to deal with in that matter."
"Good nite, mom"
"Don't ignore this matter."
"Good nite!" I say as I walk up the stairs. I get to my room, and my phone buzzes.
*New Text from Oli*
What did your mum want
How did you know my mum wanted to talk?
She was standing at the window when I dropped you off
Oh well mr know-it-all she wanted to know who you were
Did you tell her
I told her you were my friend, but she wants more than that

*Next Day*

"Aly! You are alive! I don't know why you wouldn't be, but you are still alive!" Matt exclaims
"Matt seriously. You plan to go to the cinema with your best mate and not one, but two girls, and you completely bail on us."
"What do you mean? Oh last nite, well it's a long story why I couldn't make it."
"I have time Matt, we are only at school."
"Well first I had t-"
"Matt got a blowjob, and was kidnapped by unicorns." Oli chimes in.
"Thanks Oli for describing last nite in one sentence. Not really that is not what happened at all. What's up with the unicorns?"
"That's also a long story that you would have heard if you did not ditch us." I explained to Matt.
"I had things that came up. I tried calling the two of you, but no response. Really, you two should answer your calls."
"Matt, we were trying to call you all nite. Why didn't you at least send a text back?"
"Again, I was busy."
"With what?" Oli looks Matt dead in the eyes.
"Fine, Skye wanted to set you two up on a date without making it obvious that it was a date. So she told me to get you two to go to the cinema with us, then not show up. It was her fault, I was framed. She did have good intentions though, so maybe kill her a little less hard. And seriously, what did I miss that involved unicorns? Do I want to know?"
"Oliver, came up with a theory last nite. Involving you and Skye, maybe some unicorns, and possibly a blowjob."
"Blowjob! What on earth do blowjobs have to do with unicorns? Or me and Skye?"
"Skye and I, Matt. And if Oli wants to tell you his theory, he can. I'm going to go find Skye." I walk towards the other side of the school, running into Skye about halfway there. I talk to her about the nite before. She admits she set it up, and Matt was told to ditch us, meaning he was innocent as he said he was. We walk back over to the guys, Skye says hi to Oli and Matt.
"Skye, did you tell Matt to ditch Aly and me at the cinema?" Oli asks her.
"Yes Oli. When Matt made plans, I thought it was a great opportunity to set you and Aly up. I told him to ditch, so you two would be forced to hang out."
"Aww, that's cute Skye." Matt says.
"Matt you knew about it, don't overly exaggerate this." I say.
"But, no one would go through the lengths of ditching their friends to set me up with someone."
"Matt, you could date Skye. You two would be so cute together." I point out. Skye fake gags while Matt just shakes his head 'no' over and over. Oli laughs at their reactions.
"So speaking of me setting people up, did you two...?"
"Well if by 'did we two...' you mean start dating, then yes. Oli and I are together." I hug him, he leans in and kisses my cheek. Matt fake gags while Skye squeals.
"Omg, it worked. You two are adorable." She squeals again. "I can not believe my plan actually worked!" She starts doing a victory dance of sorts in her seat. Matt tells her to calm down, but she ignores him, continuing her victory dance. Oli and I just laugh at the arguement that unfolds between Matt and Skye.
Oli leans over to me, and whispers in my ear "Want to ditch the old married couple, and go somewhere more private?" He looks around at the hundreds of people in the commons with us. I nod and stand up. He takes my hand, and leads me down one of the hallways leading away from the commons, one I haven't been down before. About midway down the hallway he stops at a door. He pushes it open revealing a large room with a large mural painted on the wall opposite the door. There's a few desks in the far corners of the room, leaving the center clear. "I usually come here to think. Or just when I want to be alone. It's very relaxing in here, and the mural thing is so complex in design. I sound so nerdy right now, but I always find something new everytime I come here. Follow me" He walks to a corner behind one of the desks, as I get closer, I notice a small hole in the wall. "This hole is where I hide my songs. I wrote them, and I didn't want to lose them, so I left them here." He pulls out a small pile of papers, and hands them to me. I look through them, amazed at his writing abilities.
"These are so good Oli. Why haven't you started a band yet? This would be amazing to hear you sing."
"Me sing? That's cute Aly. I can't sing. I am, however learning to scream. Wouldn't that be awesome?" I just smile and hug him.

~3 years later~

"Oli! I can't believe we're graduating school tomorrow! I'm going to miss you so much while I'm in London. Four years is a long time, and I won't have time to ever see you. Between classes and a job, I won't even have time for myself. Maybe you can come see me sometime, since you're not going to uni. I can't believe that this could be the last time I ever see my boyfriend of 3 years. I love you Oli. I will miss you so much. I know I've said it several times, but I really will miss you." I haven't stopped hugging him since he has been at my house. My parents were planning a graduation party, and Oli had to help plan, because I was no help. One more day and I was finished with school; in Sheffield at least. I lead Oli into my bedroom to help me pick out my dress for the ceremony tomorrow. I settle on a pastel green tea length dress. I go to try it on, and walk back in the room.
"Wow, you are beautiful." I blush pulling my fringe back from my face. "Actually, beautiful doesn't even describe you right now. Something more along the lines of exquisite, or radiant, or even pulchritudinous. One of my teachers taught me that one; which teacher though is a mystery." I do a twirl, and Oli claps. "Why don't we show your mum this dress? Something this gorgeous shouldn't be hidden from the public." We walk out into the main room where everyone was gathered. As I walked in everyone turned to look at me with awe. They all admired my dress, and how perfect it was on me, like it was made specifically for me to wear. After everyone finished gawking I go back into my room and change back into my regular clothes from before. "You know your mum is leaving tonite to get more things for the party right?"
"Yeah, why Oli?"
"Well we will be alone, in this big house, for quite a while."
"Oli, my house isn't big, and not tonite."
"But, Aly. We only have another day and a half until you leave for uni, then I won't see you again. At least not for a long time."
"Oli, I love you. Just not tonite. Okay" He smiles before he starts crying.
"I can't believe you're leaving me. I've loved you for three years now, and you have to leave. Why is everything I love ripped from my arms?" He continues crying. I wrap my arms around him, trying to comfort him.
"You still have Matt. He can keep you company until you can come down to London. I won't forget you, Oli." I start crying myself, and we just sit in each others arms crying.

"Valedictorian Skye Raine Lester" Skye stands up to give her speech and recieve her papers.
"Alyona Kayley Ivanov" I stand up to recieve my papers stating I completed school. I thank the teachers standing around and walk back to my seat. I zone out until I hear a familiar name called.
"Matthew Nicholls" I see Matt walk up onto the podium, grab his papers and walk back to his seat.
"Oliver Scott Skyes." Oli stands up from his seat, and walks up to the podium to recieve his papers. We made it through school together. Together. One word has never had more of an emotional impact on me at any one time. After the ceremony I find my friends, and hug them. We go back to my house, and host the party. After everyone leaves except Oli, we head up the stairs to my bedroom. We lay down on my bed, my head on his chest.
"I can't believe this is our last nite together. This time tomorrow, you will be in your flat in London, without me. I just want you to know, my love for you is forever" I sit up, him after me.
"My love for you is sempiternal." He looks at me with a puzzled look. "It means eternal and unchanging." He kisses me softly before unzipping my dress. The only things I was aware of the steady breathing of Oli and me. It seemed as though the nite was infinite, as I never wanted anything to end. But all good things must end. I wake up the next morning next to Oli. I knew that in a couple hours, I may never get the chance to see his face again. I sadden at this thought but quickly think of the past, and how amazing it was together. I gather my things to bring with me to the train station, Oli helps me load them in the car. This was the last time I had seen Oli in four years. A lot can happen in four years.

I had this written out, so I thought maybe publish this early bc I can't write much on my ATL fic. Wow, this was kinda hurried through, but I don't believe that last scene was good, oh well, I suck.
