-A Historical Account of the final World War
Loud blasts sounded in the distance. The war was in full swing. 2237 had brought about a new world. The US had dominated the Americas, China had spread to include the rest of Asia, Excluding Russia, and the UK was now all of Europe. Africa had turned into a whirlwind of death, the battle ground for the four power houses. The war was bloody and in the end, no one won.
The explosion was deafening. Nuclear missiles from every end of the globe flew into Chad, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe. It rocked the planet. The Dust was so thick that it clouded the skies. Radiation poisoned the air. The earth itself became toxic. 3.5 billion people died in the first day. 1.6 billion died the following week. There was no food, no medicine, and nowhere to run.
A select few survived. They were those lucky enough to make it into the military bunkers in time. 350 years later, cities began to emerge. Many areas were still toxic, but new technology provided relative protection. Slowly, life began to rebuild itself. The toxins bread new forms of life and new adaptations. Walled cities were the only safe places from the creatures, and the highways connecting them were built high above the ground.
Some still lived outside the cities, foraging in the rubble and trading in black markets. Surrounding villages soon popped up and were a breeding ground for thugs. These areas became known as the 0 Zones.
A new world order sprang up in the Americas, and rebels fled to the 0 zones. The new order was made up of 3 groups: The police, armed with guns and ready to fire; The lawmakers, a group of 50 per city made up of those elected by the high council; and the Hierarchy, the high council, and the dictator. The new world was named Epicinium. Underground cities emerged rapidly, known as the tunnels. Soon there were hundreds of rebel cells. Eventually two more governments surfaced. One in the east, Ādēśa, was set up with a ruling trio and strict military sub leaders. The other was built upon the remains of Africa, Diehekke, and ruled mafia style with an unknown leader on top.
