                                            josh
ring, ring, ring. time for winter break. the chairs squealed as teenagers rushed out of the room like a stampede. "push in your... chairs. never mind," the teacher murmured, rubbing his temples as if he were getting rid of a headache.

josh slowly rises from his seat and slings his backpack over his shoulder, pushing his chair in and fast walking out of the school that he wouldn't be seeing for three weeks. thank goodness. he sighs, looking around the school and at the people around him. he always noticed that the friend circles he saw were pretty big, while his was relatively small. a familiar voice breaks through his thoughts. "hey tyler, have you met josh yet?" brendon says.

brendon constantly made josh be social. he both appreciated and hated it.

brendon and tyler walked over to him, brendon grinning at them both. "hi," tyler murmured awkwardly.
josh hadn't really spoken to tyler much, they were just neighbors with a few mutual friends. "hey," josh breathed, playing with his hands nervously.

brendon ended up making conversation the entire walk to their houses. soon enough, they were at brendon's house and it was just tyler and josh. they walked in silence and waved to each other when they went their separate ways.

💫🌙💫

josh slammed his backpack down in the corner of his room and crashed on his bed, fishing his phone out of his pocket and turning on his computer

"josh! come down please, sweetie!" josh hears his mother call happily from downstairs

josh's mother was highly religious. she was the typical christian, homophobic and transphobic woman, as well as his dad. it bothered josh a lot, but he couldn't do anything, as she was his mother.

💫🌙💫

"conversion therapy," josh murmured.

josh rocked in his chair, blinking back hot tears and trying to keep his breathing under control, an unfamiliar man sat across from josh, giving him a grin so big that josh thought his face was going to split in half. "it's for your and our good," his mother tells josh.

truthfully, it was only good for his parents. everyone in church despised them. they had been shunned in churches, especially when they had attempted to pray the gay away to no avail. they really only had children to show off, and josh was the miserable product of two parents who actually only wanted something to be proud of.

josh had to pack up by the next week. tears blurred his vision as he murmured a fake agreement to what they were saying and trudged upstairs. he tries to convince himself that he'll be fine. he has a hard time believing this.

a/n: here we go!!! the beginning of my first fic. it sucks now but please hang in there. once i get the ball rolling it'll get better i promise. just trying to figure out their living situations while trying to stay true to the people's personalities (besides josh's mom n dad but that's just for the purpose of the story). also ik that the grammar sucks, these chapters are just word vomit, just slightly modified lmao. feedback would be nice. this fic is also going almost agonizingly slow, so if you're not into that you deffo shouldn't read this. bye
