Niall’s POV
I pulled the suitcase up onto my bed and unzipped it. Zayn did the same with his suitcase. Neither of us said a single word. Neither of us really felt like talking that much. We didn’t want to talk about what was happening today, and that was the only thing we could think about
I grabbed my clothes out from the little hotel dresser and carried them back to my bed, placing them inside the suitcase with a sigh. Today, the boys and I were flying back to England for recording. The girls were flying back home so they’d be ready for school, which started on Tuesday. I really wished this didn’t have to end. But, at least we had a great summer.
For three months, the boys and I almost felt like normal people. We were able to hang out with friends and do crazy things. Yeah, sure we had to work at times, but we still got time to do normal things too. It was actually pretty relaxing. And I could only thank these six girls for sending one fan letter.
Zayn and I packed our suitcases. He finished first, since I had a few souvenirs to put in as well.
“You almost ready?” Zayn asked, saying the first words between us since breakfast. He pulled his suitcase off his bed and to the ground.
“Almost,” I replied, as I placed the souvenirs on the top of the clothes. I quickly zipped the suitcase up and pulled it off the bed. “Okay, let’s go,” I said with only half the normal enthusiasm I normally had.
We were going to meet the girls down in the lobby (or really, we were going to meet them in the van once we were all out of the fans’ view), so Zayn and I went straight to the elevator, dragging our rolling suitcases behind us.
“Well, this has been fun,” Zayn mused as we walked.
I nodded in agreement. “I wish this summer didn’t have to end,” I said, sighing again.
“Me too, mate,” Zayn said as we wheeled our suitcases toward the elevator.
Harry, Liam and Louis were waiting near the elevator, their suitcases at their feet. The boys were waiting there for us, and couldn’t have been there long. The sounds of the fans’ screams were flowing into our ears from up here thanks to the open air space over the lobby that went all the way up to the top floor.
Liam noticed us first. “There you guys are,” he said, speaking just loud enough for us to hear over the screams.
“Sorry,” I apologized. “We were just finishing up packing.”
The boys nodded in understanding. Then, instead of pressing the down button, we all found ourselves walking towards the open air and the screams of our amazing fans, our suitcases rolling behind us. We poked our heads out over the edge and smiled. The screams immediately intensified. We waved to them, smiling.
I can’t even begin to explain how thankful we are for the fans. There’s no way we could even come close.
“I can’t believe how lucky we are,” Louis mused, smiling. “We were just normal lads who loved to sing, and now we’re touring the world, doing what we love to do.”
“I’m glad my parents convinced me to go,” Zayn said, chuckling a bit. We all laughed at that, continuing to wave to the fans.
We all smiled softly, continuing to wave to the fans. But, then I saw six faces I recognized near the doors. It was the girls. I could see all of them smiling at us.
Then, when Lizzie completely got our attention, she waved frantically, motioning for us to get down there. “Lizzie’s summoned us,” I said, laughing a bit. The rest of them joined in, smiling. “Come on, boys.”
