Trust and WELP

"Because I'm scared" I froze. After she said that I stood still and try to connect all the pieces. Not having friends, being the top student. It all makes sense now. She was... bullied. "Ummm... William, are you okay? I'm sorry for making things awkward." She said. She's so nice that she could easily be manipulated. She's apologizing for such a small reason. "No don't worry bout it. I should be the one who's apologizing for asking such a personal question." I said in an attempt to make things better but it fails. Her face isn't that hard to read. She's sad. She just replies with a nod. I don't know what to do in a situation like this. What should I do. What should I say? But before I could even say anything she asks "Umm... William, how can you tell if a person could be trusted?" in a faint and unconfident voice. I noticed that the cheery girl from the park was missing. All I could see is a really sad girl. So I tied to bring her back by saying "Well, it's simple. The only ones that you can trust are your real friends." in a confident way. She seems to be confused. So I continued. "Real friends are people who can be there for you when you need them. I know that it's corny saying these stuff but it's true though. I mean, one of my real friends is Ellen. I mean I know that you know what I mean by that. It seems like you trust Ellen as much as I do. I mean, she being your only friend. Do you see what I mean?" she nodded and said "Thanks" in a slightly better mood. But the mood still seems too thick. But I want to know more about her. I'm interested. Am in love? It can't be but still. But now, I know what to ask. "Anyways, Rena, now it's my turn to ask" she gives a nod but I can see that she's confused. "Can I be your friend" I said it with a smile. Well I genuinely wanted to become closer. When I look at her she was in tears. Then she says "Yes" then hugged me. Well it was embarrassing but it felt kinda good. I mean now, I'm closer to her. And I'm happy that she let me in her world. She realizes that she was hugging me so she let go and backed out and said "Sorry, I was a bit too excited" in a cheery way. Finally, the cheerful girl is back. I was happy. "Don't worry bout it. I mean I understand that the feels where real" I said with a small Chuckle. She laughs at the joke as we get the tickets to the move. I can't believe that she would like sci-fi like me. So we enjoyed the movie. After that we went to a café to eat and drink something. I ordered a slice of blueberry pie and coffee. While Rena orders a strawberry cake and French Vanilla Black tea. Our orders are similar yet different. But we still enjoyed it. After that we went bowling. I lost by 3 strike. I didn't really expect her to be that good with bowling. Almost everyone at the bowling area was impressed. The owner even said that she could be a professional if she were to do this as a hobby. To top off the day, we went to the amusement park. Surprisingly it was our first time going to one. First we went to the roller coaster. Rena was more nervous than excited for the ride but she ended up enjoying it more than me. Next up we went to the "Shoot the cans to win a prize" booth. Rena tried but she ended up only knocking one can down. Since I was an FPS gamer, my vision was more accurate than others. And my concentration was great at the time so I shot down 8 cans. And that gave us the biggest stuffed animal. It was cute but I ended up giving it to Rena since I don't collect that kind of stuff. After that we just spent the rest of the day going on other rides and talking while eating cotton candy and other sweet goodies. It was a fun and memorable. But it was late so we had to go home. I assisted Rena to her home. I was about to head to my house she suddenly asked "Umm... William, can we do this again someday?" in a really cute way. "Sure, why not, it was fun. And call me Will" I said in an excited way. I was happy. "Okay, Good night, Will!" She shouted. "Night, Rena!" I shouted back. It was a really fun day. I haven't had this much fun in a while now. I was in my room, trying to think of so many things, two of them being Rena and Clive. *(music) *buzz. As I check on who it was, it's Ellen. I answered it and immediately heard giggling. "So how was your date with Rena?" She asked in a really teasing way. She really likes teasing me. "Firstly, it wasn't a date. We just kinda... Hung out, I guess. Secondly, You duped me hard" I said in a non-convincing way. "Can I be your friend? Hilariously corny. But that was a some smooth moves" She says while laughing. "Wait, How did you know?" I asked, unable to mask my embarrassment, she just laughs. Man, she's getting way too carried away. "Well, she told me everything. She basically summarized the whole day." She said. Well I was embarrassed, considering that she knows all the corny line that I said but before I could even respond. I heard Clive's voice in the room. It was faint but still noticeable. "Will, got to go. Bye." Was the last word I got from her that night. Only one word can describe my feeling right now. "WELP" I shouted.
