Mara's p.o.v.

I watched from the backseat of the SUV as Aiden slowly slipped into the drivers seat. She sat in silence, staring off into nothing. She seemed nervous and confused, which was completely out of character.

"Aiden are you okay?" I asked as I leaned up between the front two seats. She didn't speak, she didn't even acknowledge the question. It wasn't that she was ignoring me, she was so far into thought that she was paying no attention to the outside world. I turned to look at Raven, who was still in disbelief herself. I nudged her arm slightly and jerked my head toward Aiden. She looked up and furrowed her brow.

"Aiden snap out of it. We need to go home and talk about this." Ravens voice held firm, even though it was obvious she was shaken to the core. Aiden finally tore her eyes from the windshield as briefly glanced at us.

"You're right. I'm sorry, this is just one scenario that I didn't process. I was struck totally off guard." She blinked as she leaned forward, sticking the keys into the ignition. Raven and I both frowned, sitting back in our seats. It was rare that Aiden miscalculated any scenario, it was what made her so powerful. She was quick to analyze every possible outcome.

As the engine roared to life the radio turned on, picking up the last track on the CD, Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones.

🎶Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game🎶

As the words rang through the car, Aiden took another thirty seconds to stare blankly at the radio. Before anyone else could react, Aiden's hand smashed against the power button. With anymore force, she would have sent the radio flying into the engine.

The ride home would have been silent for the most part, but the sounds of everyone's thoughts seemed to fill the car.

Raven's p.o.v.

I popped a cap off of a beer before placing it on the bar, sliding it to a customers open hand. As I began to wipe the counter down, I looked down at the end of the bar. There she sat, hovered over the bars books, a lit cigarette in the same hand that was supporting her head. Aiden had only spoken a few words since we got back to the Dirty Devil. Most of which were just marking today's event as pure coincidence as Mara and I came up with far fetched conspiracies. She lifted her head long enough to take the last drag off of the cigarette, budding it in a scotch glass that once held 4 brimmed glasses of bourbon. I slowly made my way down to her.

"Hey what are you thinking about?" I asked leaning against the bar. She looked up from the books to me, then around the bar. She studied the 6 round wooden tables scattered about, the pool table that had a dim fluorescent light hanging above it, and the empty stage that was placed in front of the large window.

"I'm trying to find a way to keep this place in business." Her voice was quiet and raspy. She dropped her head down again, scribbling something onto a piece of paper.

"We do fine, but you know that's not what I'm talking about." I said, fishing out a beer for myself.

"I've told you, he was bound to show his face sometime. Coincidentally it was to us and at a concert. There's really no more depth to it, or at least any that I can see." She kept her nose in the books, tapping on a calculator every once in a while.

"So it is sheer coincidence that Lucifer shows his face, a long with is little squad of elite, to us. It's purely coincidental that not only did he ask you to be Knight Commander of the royal guard, but also asked you out on a date. Lucifer. The Devil. Satan. King of Hell. Asked you out on a date for American food and beer." I narrowed my eyes, taking a swig of beer.
