I Promise

~Alex~

When we got to Mari's place, Sohinki and Mari helped Victoria and I carry our bags to our room. Since Mari luckily had a three bedroom apartment, Victoria and I got our own rooms. After unpacking, which took about an hour, Sohinki offered to go sight seeing and show us around Sacramento.
"Yeah, we would love to!" I say. I put Mack in his travel cage, since he already ate and went to the bathroom, so he can sleep. Victoria and I change into some nicer looking clothes, grab our wallets, and head out the door to the car.

"Wow this place is huge!" Victoria states in amazement.
"I agree," I add. The four of us saw everything there is to see in California's capital. We stopped at Taco Bell for lunch/dinner. We sat at a booth and just chatted. We mainly talked about Smosh and Smosh games.
"So, Alex and I were wondering, since now that we live with you," Victoria said pointing at Mari, "if we were ever gonna be in a video? Not that we don't want to, it's just that we were wondering because we wouldn't want to be a hassle or a bother to you guys." Sohinki and Mari exchange a look and both look back at us.
"Of course you guys will be in a video! I mean we will have to get everyone's opinion first and you have to meet everyone, but most likely, yeah, you guys are fine!" Sohinki says smiling.
"HA! Told you," I shout to Victoria, "in your face!"
"Yeah, yeah, okay, I get it." she laughs.

"Well, since it's getting kinda dark and we are nearly finished, wanna head back to the apartment and catch up?" Mari asks. We are all practically finished with our food and it's almost 7pm.
"Sure sounds great," I say. Since we paid at the counter, we get straight in the car and drop Sohinki off at his place first.
"Thanks, I had a great time today! See ya later!" he says as he leaves the car.
"See ya," we all say at the same time.

~Mari~

"See ya," we say at the same time. Victoria gets in the passenger seat since Sohinki left and we head back home. I pull into the apartment parking lot and we get out. Once we get inside I decide to speak first,
"So what do you guys wanna do?"
"I don't know, what do you wanna do?" Alex asks indicating to Victoria and I.
Victoria speaks first, "Wanna play some Mario Kart? That's if you have it, Mari?"
"Of course I have it! I mean, who wouldn't?!" I laugh as I walk over to the TV and put the game in.
"But be warned, Mari, I am the King of Mario Kart! Muahahahaha!!!" Alex says with an evil smile.
"We shall see...so let the games begin!" I say in a medieval accent.

The three of us played Mario Kart until about 12:30am. Alex, of course, won every time she played, getting all 'Perfect's.'
"Well, I'm going to head off to bed, I'm feeling jetlagged and I had a long day. See you guys in the morning," Alex says.
"Goodnight," Victoria and I say together. Alex heads into her room with Mack and goes to sleep instantly. Victoria seems a bit anxious,
"What's up?" I ask.
"Oh...uhhh...what?" she stutters, clearly she was in her own world.
"I said, 'What's up?' You seem worried about something. Are you okay?"
"Oh...well...you know how when we first called you asking if we could stay with you? Well I never really told you the whole story and, if we are going to live with you, I think you should know the truth," she says.
"Okay go ahead."
"I told you that Alex didn't have a place to live because her parents kicked her out, but that's not entirely true. She did get kicked out, but it was right after high school because her parents pushed her out of their lives for no reason. For a while, Alex stayed with me, until she found this guy who soon became her boyfriend, and moved in with him. They were doing good for a while until he started drinking more, and he just got more aggressive. Because of him being like this, Alex went into a depression, she didn't eat or sleep or talk to anyone but me, but even when we did talk, it wasn't often. Because of the depression, her now ex, Josh, became physically violent and you could see the venom in his eyes grow when he got mad. He always hit her and yelled at her. She tried to leave him or even call the cops, but he nearly killed her, so she stayed. Two days ago she finally had enough, and she fought back against him. He could've crushed a few bones when he hit her but I'm glad he didn't. I came over the next day, found out what happened, and called you. And yeah, you know the rest." Victoria said. I didn't know what to say to something like this.
All I could say was, "Oh my gosh...wow...I'm so sorry." I didn't realize that Victoria started crying a little bit.
"Don't apologize, Mari, we are better now thanks to you. We are over 3,000 miles away from him so I wouldn't worry. Just promise me one thing, please?"
"Anything."
"Don't tell anyone from Smosh that I told you, because Alex would kill me if she found out. Especially since we are meeting everyone tomorrow, and we wouldn't want to have a bad first impression."
"I promise," I say and I mean it.
"Man she must be hurting so much right now," I think to myself.
