It was a cold winter morning, like it has been for the last several weeks. The wind blowing gently as it pushes some snow along with it. The trees with snow lining their branches where their leafs covered only last summer.

I was walking home from school, winter break had just started and everyone was already going wild. I how ever was not, mainly because I didn't have any plans or many friends to have fun with. And my family and i aren't very close at the moment because I moved far away from them, and for good reason. My mom and dad always tried to make me become a doctor even though it never interested me.

I live in a small apartment building, plenty of neighbors to talk with, but I choose not to. Its not that I don't like them, its just that I don't know how to talk them. You ask any of my neighbors and they will all say the same, "yeah he's a real quite one, he never even comes out to the block party's we have here". They always offer me invitations to the party's but I politely decline, I'm not a party guy anyway. I like to be by myself more that I like to spend time with anyone else.

Solitary confinement... That's how my friends say I live. Well I say friends but really they're nothing but people who I use to kill boredom, as mean as it may sound. I never liked socializing, it never seemed necessary for me.  But my parents always told me to at least try, and I did...but it never works out.

I let out a small sigh, which forms into a cloud, as I walk up to my apartment. I walked pass my mailbox, in the corner of my eye, I see something, It looked like a person, but I didn't pay mind to them. I open my mail box, I get the usual, bills, ads, but this time I got something new, something i never thought I'd see, a letter from my sister. How long has it been? Five, six years since I've talked to her. I opened the letter its contents said,

"Hello Johnathan, how have you been, its been a long time since I've talked to you, hasn't it? Well I hope your doing well and all. Mom and Dad have been wondering if you'll come home for Christmas this year, I told them you probably won't, knowing you. Well that's not what this letter is for, I just wanted to tell you that a friend of mine is moving into the same apartment building as you! Anyways, I told her to look for you the second she gets there. Oh and also, help her with her problem if you can, I tried but couldn't help her. Well anyway, I hope you too get to know each other well!
                                   -Your loving sister."
