Paige's Pov*
After a few minutes I managed to calm down and stopped screaming; mainly because people out walking their dogs were giving me weird looks. Others had rushed out of their houses to see who got ‘stabbed’ but when they saw nothing around those lines, they had gone back inside.
Normally I would be embarrassed by people thinking I was an absolute freak but right now, I couldn’t care less. That was my one moment of happiness and I will not let others ruin that.
Ignoring the stares, I picked up my phone and continued talking like nothing happened. “No way! You’re kidding right?” I asked the director, though I was begging inside that he wasn’t.
“God no! Of course of not! And by the way, that was one hell of a scream!”
“Sorry about that… I just got a little excited!”
“Don’t worry, I completely understand. You know Paige, you are a much better actor than you think,”
“But Mr Spurlock, what about the other actors? The ones who are actually experienced and have won millions of awards and stuff? Like Jennifer Lawrence! She auditioned! How did I get the role and not her?”
“The other actors including Jennifer are all extremely talented but we decided that they were not suitable for this role.”
“So .. so this is really true? I .. I really got this role?”
“Of course! Now about the movie, I have booked you plane tickets out to London this Sunday so you have two days to pack. I have booked you a hotel as well close to the set. The first day when you arrive in London will be a free day for you so you can explore the city. Then the second day, you will meet the boys and get to know them better before the real acting starts. I will email you other details. Is that clear?”
“Yes absolutely!”
“Oh and I forgot one thing. You can bring a friend with you to London!”
“Seriously?!!”
“Yes!”
“I haven’t even meet you in person yet Mr Spurlock but I already know you are the best director ever!”
“Haha I know I sure am! And call me Morgan. ‘Mr Spurlock’ just sounds like I’m an old professor or something”
“Sure! Morgan it is! And thankyou so so so much! I am so grateful for everything!”
“Well then, see you shortly in a few days.”
“Bye!” I said before hanging up.
I squealed in excitement and did a little happy dance. I was so happy that my feelings of excitement were indescribable.
I was so caught up in my own world that I totally forgot Marcus was still standing next to me. “Good news I’m guessing?”
The sound of his voice tore me from my thoughts and I snapped back to reality. “You will never ever ever in the whole entire world guess what just happened! Guess what?!”
Marcus chuckled. “I thought you said I couldn’t ever guess and now you’re asking me to guess!”
“True. Anyways, I just got a call from the director of the upcoming One Direction and turns out I got the role!!!” I said a little too loudly so that it turned into a scream.
“Really?! That’s great! I am so happy for you! I knew you were always a great actor!” Marcus said giving me a hug. Marcus is a really kind person. He was just so sweet, always happy for others.
“Aww thankyou!”
“So that means you get to leave Melbourne for some time!”
“Yes I do! So excited! No work for 4 months yay! And I get to go London how fricken awesome is that!”
“When are you leaving?”
“This Sunday!”
"What time?"
"I have no idea and I couldn't care less!! All I can really focus on right now is the fact that I am ACTUALLY going!!!"
“I know you’re so lucky! I am really happy for you. Anyways, I got to go back home now."
“Oh okay then! Why so quick though?"
"Oh I umm... I got some work to do."
"Okay see ya!”
We said our goodbyes before heading in different directions. Part of me wondered why Marcus was in such a hurry to get home but I quickly pushed that thought aside before it bothered me. He just probably had work to do.
My mind wondered back to the start of the day. I was just going out for a jog like every other morning. I was preparing myself for work like every other morning. But then something happened. Something I did not expect or even dare to dream about. I had gotten a call from one of the most professional directors in the world.
I still just cannot believe it. This is me we are talking about; a normal boring girl from Melbourne who's faith always leads her to tragedy. Nothing good ever happened to me I knew nothing good would ever happen to me.
But today, I was proven wrong for the first time in years. And I couldn't have been any happier.

I had skipped all the way the home. When I reached the front lawn, I opened the door and hurried inside. I couldn’t wait to tell Rose the news.
She was sprawled across the couch watching TV. But as soon as Rose saw me enter, she bolted up and ran towards me. “Paige! Didn’t you hear! Someone got stabbed down the street! And here you are skipping and dancing around?”
“Omg Rose you actually heard those rumours? Nobody got stabbed. I was only screaming that’s all.”
“Ohh pheww,” Rose sighed, hopping back on the sofa.
“That’s it? Aren’t you missing something?” I asked.
“Oh yeah! Where’s breakfast? I’m starving!”
“No! Who cares about breakfast.”
“I do! It’s the most important meal of the day!”
“Rose seriously? Now aren’t you going to ask me why I was screaming?”
“No not until I get my breakfast!”
“Oh my god I’m just going to tell you! I got the role for the one direction movie!!!”
Her reaction was clearly not what I expected. I was hoping that she would squeal and jump up and down or something. But no, she just said there with a blank expression on her face.
“Cool congrats” she said with a flat tone, her gaze returning to the TV.
That’s when I remembered she hasn’t heard the other part yet.
“And the best part is, you get to come with me to London!!” I shouted excitedly. Now that got her on her feet. “NO WAY!!!” Rose screamed, her loud voice echoing through the house.
“YES WAY!!” I screamed back.
In a matter of seconds, we were both jumping up and down screaming. Thrill and excitement rushed through our bones with every jump and every scream.
I guess now it is official. Next week, I will be living my dreams. Not only will I also be acting with the MOST famous boys in the world, but I get to cherish every single moment with my best friend.
