Olivia picked up the phone and punched the buttons on the dialpad. She placed the phone on her ear.
"Hello, is this Mr Jergins?" She asked picking up a pen. "Yes, how are you?"
She smiled and scribbled on the back of a file. "I'm fine too. I called to check if there is any house for lease at StoneFields." She stopped writing and moved her mouse that was on her table. "Great. Send the pictures to my email. Thank you so much. To should also send the price too." She said. She clicked on her computer and then nodded. "Yes. Yes. That very one, alright. Oh, say hi to her. Goodbye."
She dropped the phone. She rubbed her neck and sighed. She needed a house at StoneFields, she needed to be close to her child. She wanted to meet up with her, to be her friend.
She had no plans to tell Aria that she was her birth mother so quickly. Aria would probably freak out.
She stood up and went to the kitchen. She poured herself a cup of coffee and went back to the table. Her mobile phone rang and she picked it up.
"Hello, mother." She said into the phone.
"How are you?" Samantha asked
Aria eyed the phone and then replied. "I'm fine. How are you?"
"Good. We are having a girls party at home tomorrow. You could come."
"Girls party. What's that?"
"I believe I need a time with my girls." Samantha said. Olivia heard her mother chuckle at the other end of the line.
"Is Freda coming?"
"Yes she is darling."
Her mother had never called her darling in a long time, she had never called her darling at all.
"I'd check my schedule."
"Thats nice. Okay bye."
Olivia dropped the phone on the table. She wanted to think of what stirred up the sudden change in her mother and why she wanted to have a day with her daughters. Then she thought of her having one day with Aria. One very good day with her own daughter. The women laughed loudly as they drank from the glasses in their hands as though it drowned all their sorrows. Freda picked up the bottle of wine and refilled her glass.
"Fill mine." Olivia said stretching out her glass. The dark red liquid rolled into the glass as Freda poured with a smile on her lips.
"What about your husband?" Freda asked dropping the bottle on the table. "I mean you mum."
Samantha shrugged. "I filed for divorce."
Olivia hid a chuckle. "Why? What happened?"
"He brought some slut into my house."
"Oh. Nice." Freda said with a quick laugh.
"Indeed." Olivia supported. She drank from her glass and her mind flashed back to those horrible days when he abused them. Her sister and herself.
"I'm so sorry I never believed you girls." Samantha said as those she knew what they were thinking.
"You were deeply in love." Olivia mocked.
"With a monster." Freda added. "He always got away with his evil deeds. I'm glad he is gone."
"Just like every other man in your life."
"Olivia!" Freda snapped.
Olivia turned to her. "I'm just saying the truth." Olivia replied raising her shoulders.
"I am so glad it's over and everything has been uncovered." Samantha said drinking from her glass. "How is the finding going?"
Olivia gulped the entire content of her glass and smacked her lips. "I want to move to StoneFields. I'm planning on buying a house there." Olivia said.
"What!" Samantha said in shock.
"Why?" Freda bellowed.
"I want to be close to my daughter. I want her to get to know me, to love me before I tell her the truth." Olivia said looking at nothing in particular.
"How long will you keep up the lying game?" Freda asked. "You are lying to your husband too."
"I have my ways of getting around with Ryan." Olivia said.
"Be careful. All easy going men have a dark side." Samantha told her. "Under that patient and loving man is a demon that you don't want to awaken."
"Found a place yet?" Freda asked. She drank from her glass and dropped a half empty glass on the table.
"I had someone send me pictures of a house that had been put up for sale."
"And?" Samantha asked.
"I'd receive them later today."
"What did you tell Ryan?" Her mother asked again.
Olivia shrugged. "I haven't told him anything yet. But I'd tell him I have to move to StoneFields for a business trip."
"You should have a degree in lying." Freda told her.
"You told me he is friends with your boss, that they went to the same elementary. What if he asked?"
"I'd call her too. And do what I have to do."
"Applause." Freda said clapping her hands. "The lie queen."
Olivia chuckled. "I am just doing all this to get my child back. That's all."
"Have you seen her yet?" Samantha asked.
"Just a picture of her when she was young. She looked so much like me." Olivia said picking up the bottle. Freda snatched it from her.
"We've drank too much."
"Just one more glass. Please."
"No."
"Maybe we should let her drink more so she could tell all the lie she ever told." Samantha said winking to Freda. They all laughed with Olivia's laughter sounding as though she wanted to cry.
