After
After the break-up, Isaac called and texted me for about a week but eventually he gave up. Claire, on the other hand, didn't even bother to apologise for that matter. Its been six months. In the span of six months quite a lot of things happened; Isaac dating Claire a month after our break-up, Claire being a pain in the arse, me trying to get over him and avoiding both of them at all cost.
I sat on the bench, placing my bag next to me while waiting for Keila, who was changing her clothes. I slipped on my shoes, knotted them tightly so that I won't fall on my butt again for the fifth time because of a slight mishap.
"I heard that we have a new coach," Keila said upon entering the locker room and tying her ginger coloured hair in a ponytail in the process.
"Yeah, they said he's nicer than Mr. Peterson," I told her, getting up from my seat, taking my water bottle and small towel with me before heading outside with Keila.
Our former touch rugby coach, Mr. Peterson, was an excellent coach but he was a pain in the arse. He doesn't remember any of our names except for the excellent players, he never smiles and he's a short-tempered person. One mistake and he'll rage like a lion.
The new coach was standing on the field holding a file and looking immensely at it. I couldn't see his face clearly because the sun was shining brightly causing me to squint my eyes. Everyone gathered on the field once the coach blows the whistle.
As we got closer to the field, I recognised who the new coach was.
"Isn't that your--," Keila whispered beside me.
"My cousin, Nathan," I cut her off, nodding my head in disbelief. I can't believe he's back and the fact that he's our coach was utterly unbelievable. My cousin, Nathan Anderson is like a brother to me even though there's quite a large gap between us, we get along pretty good, most of the time.
Once we were settled on the field, girls were gawking at him. I narrowed my eyes at him and he smirked. He was wearing a white Nike shirt that suits him pretty well, a black cap that covered his blonde hair and a whistle placed around his neck.
"Good Afternoon everyone, I'm Nathan Anderson, your new coach for this year," he said walking closer to us.
"I have a few set of rules that you must follow," he continued, walking around, eyeing each one of us.
"Number one, don't be late. Two, listen to what I say and three, raise your hands if you have any questions. If you disobey any of these rules, you will face the consequences."
A blonde haired girl, raised her hand and she asked with a chirpy voice, "How old are you?" I rolled my eyes at her question and Keila did too.
"I'm 24," Nathan states.
"Are you single?" Another girl asked.
"5 laps for you," Nathan pointed at the girl.
"What? Why? "
"You didn't raise your hand before asking a question," he stated. Well, this is going to be a long day.
After the practice, I approached Nathan. The practice didn't go so well because the girls were mainly focused at him and not the game.
"Surprised to see me here?" he questioned.
"I thought you were supposed to be in America teaching football or something," I said in a hushed tone.
