Chapter 2: Prologue (Part 2)

*Sorry the prologue was in two parts but I felt it should be. The rest of the chapters will be longer and a bit better in quality. :D*

“The name is Jordan. Jordan Nascimento.” he introduced himself holding out his hand.

I took it and shook it once “ Lux Blackwater.” I said with a smile. I suddenly remembered why we were in the position we were in and let go of his hand.     “Why were you running?”

He then also seemed to remember his purpose. Something unrecognizable flashed through his eyes and he took my hand again and he led me outside away from all the people still trying to exit the school.

We stopped outside the front steps next to the teacher parking lot still filled with cars. He turned around to me again and started talking again.

“As you may have noticed, multiple people disappeared today in the blink of an eye.” he started explaining. I was confused but I went along with it. “ I just had class with my brother Issac and my brother Bethany and they both disappeared right in front of my eyes.”

I felt sorry for the guy but I didn't even know if what he was saying was even true. But he looked desperate and upset. “Do you want my help? Is that what this is?” I offered.

His eyes gleamed and I looked right into them sending shivers down my spine. “ Would you really?” he asked a bit hopeful.

I thought about it for a bit before answering. “Of course.”

After the post-school crowd cleared out, we made out way through the parking lot to a series of paths. He told me we were going to go back to his house first to see if his other sister, Cierra, was there. He led us down a path of gravel surrounded by trees and beautiful fauna. We were walking for about 10 minutes before we reached the house.
Surrounding the house about 15 feet away was a very small brick wall. It stood at only a small 2 feet high length. The house looked very big and ominous from the outside. It was a brick house with black shingles and decorated with vines and other plants. It was very… Victorian.

“This is Swift House right?” I asked him. He looked surprised and taken aback.

“Y-yeah” he stuttered out “ How'd you know that? Nobody ever knows about this house and plus aren't you new?” He asked.

“I know because when I had the orientation for this school, they told me my house and the name of it.” I answered. “ So naturally, the logical thing would be to memorize the place of where Im staying at for the next 10 months.”

“So that means we will be living in the same house as well!” he exclaimed. “That's great!”

I chuckled at his excitement and loudness. “Yeah I suppose it is.”
