It seemed that night I just couldn't sleep. Tomorrow morning was the Christmas party and now my mind is deciding to curl in defense mode. I was tossing and turning in bed, when I heard a knock at my door.

I softly asked, "who is it?" But no reply. Shortly after, the quiet knock came again. This time I went up to the door, the floor boards quietly creeking, and cracked open the door.

I saw a shadow disappear around the corner just as I cracked the door. I opened it more, slowly, and set one foot out, I looked down because I had stepped on some parchment.

The parchment grew increasingly warm to my touch and wriggled beneath my foot. I lifted up my foot and the parchment threw itself into the air, hovering infront of my face.

It ripped itself up and folded into a bird. Flapping silently, it waved for me to follow. So I followed, tiptoeing down the hall. There were a few candle lights along the way.

It led me through winding hallways and finally led me to a door. A small light leaked through the lock. I thought if I should knock or open it right away. My choice was made for me when the Bird flew under the door and the it opened slightly.

I peered in to find a small room, almost empty. A few pieces of furniture here and there. I discovered the light was coming from a few candles. Nothing more. A big tall frosted window was at the front of the room, the moon light dripped down the window sill.

I walked in and the door shut quietly behind me. The room was very quiet, but also really warm. I was unaware of the shadow behind me. Until a soft milky voice leaked through the dark shade.

"You can't sleep either?" I jumped slightly and slowly looked behind my shoulder.
"No, I always have trouble sleeping really."
"Yeah, me too. It seems the most busiest minds have the most trouble calling down."
"I don't think I'm ever really calm."
"So I've noticed. You have your nervous little habits. (Y/N), I have something for you." I looked at him curiously and waited, while my heart pounded on my ribcage door. He pulled out a small box from his robe, then he stood up and met my presence.

He gently lifted my hand and placed the small box tied with brittle twine in my palm. I looked at it and ran my thumb across the smooth bumpy surface. I opened it and removed the thin tissue like parchment off the top. Revealing a delicate glittering silver chain with drops of pearls, crystals, and silver strung across, a locket in the center. It was cold on my fingertips.

He gingerly lifted the necklace and turned my around. He clasped it around my neck then ran his fingertips across my shoulders. I turned around and touched the pendant and looked back up into his face. He smiled a little, his eyes a little sad, he leaned in and gave me a little kiss. I whispered a thank you, my eyes reflecting his.

~Christmas day.

((This will be a long chapter.))

I awoke when the sun cracked through the frost and the curtains. Today was the party. I almost couldn't even get out of bed, I was trembling a lot. I touched my pendant and calmed a little. Not much. But it helped me rise to my feet.

My wonderful dress was resting on my dresser. I pulled it over my head and fitted it in all the curvy spots. My figure was hard to fit, but this dress did nicely. I sat myself infront of the mirror and put on a little makeup. Just to take the river dead look from my (S/C) skin. I put some small earrings on, then my shoes, and now I was ready.

Taking one last look before exiting my room. Once I felt I was happy, I left. My locket still draped around my neck. Draco's parents had planned for us to go out and get breakfast.

When I closed my door, Draco was in the hallway, messing with his hair in the mirror. A black and dark green suit fitted his body. He looked very handsome.
