Later you awoke from your dreamless sleep to find Frisk reading an old, faded book with a bag right beside them, you knew you only had to say one word "library?" You asked them sleepily. They cheerily replied "yeah! You were asleep so I went to the library and got a few books, I find this one interesting and I'm sure you will too!" You yawned and then went over to where Frisk was sitting to look at the old, faded book. Their face lit up and handed you the book, you gave them an expression that said 'okay' as you took a deep breath and began reading.
"Long ago two races ruled over the Earth, humans and monsters. They all lived together in peace until" you took a pause for dramatic effect and then continued reading.
"One day war broke out between the two races and humans having more physical forms and unlimited determination won the war, seven of the greatest human magicians created a barrier that only a human soul could pass and it would take the power equal to seven human souls to brake the barrier so unless seven humans fall into the underground we cannot escape." Your eyes grew wide, this was written by a monster? How did it end up on the surface? You saw a signature at the bottom of the page and tried to read it but the ink was smudged so unless you exsisted back then in the underground you couldn't have known who wrote it.
You handed the old book to Frisk and pointed at the signature "can you read that?" You asked them, a few minutes later after stating at the smudged ink they sadly replied "no, but if this was written by monsters and if monsters are trapped underground underneath Mt. Ebbot how 'bout we pay your monster friends a visit? Besides were just struggling up here" You took a moment to think this over, live in the underground? Would they even except you two in the underground?
You nodded with a pure look of determination on your face but you held up a single finger "on the condition we bring the books back" Frisk put the old, faded book into the bag as you both walked out the door and locked it. You two set out on your adventure to the library and you were soon there, you walked in alongside Frisk who had not a care in the world. You and Frisk walked up to a desk where a male librarian sat looking at things on a computer, Frisk returned the books since you were never the person to communicate with people other than Frisk.
The male librarian looked confused when Frisk tried to return the old faded book, he then explained that the book did not belong to the library but it has just been sitting on a shelf and that we were more than welcome to take it. As you walked out of the library once again alongside Frisk they handed the old, faded book to you with the words "you might find it more interesting than I do, it's like a diary" now that you had a proper skim through it you found it was indeed a diary and each page looked different but there was one thing they had in common, nearly all the pages had a smudged signature at the end of each page until the writer gave up and signed with a tiny flower drawing. You felt a tug at your wrist and soon realised Frisk was running and dragging you behind them, you figured Frisk just wanted to go to Mt. Ebbot to search for monsters and pay your monster friends a visit. You put the old, faded diary in the small drawstring bag, put the bag strings around your shoulder and ran with Frisk, obviously they challenged you to a race when both of you had ran a quarter of the journey so you accepted their challenge and even though they cheated you still won and made it to the foot of Mt. Ebbot, barely panting while Frisk was panting like a very dehydrated dog and they were practically dragging them self over to you. "you seriously need to slow down a bit when we race against eachother or else I might collapse one day" they panted, you simply replied with an enthusiastic, small shout "Never! The great sibling, (y/n) never slacks when it comes to important things!".
They groaned before you replied with the same enthusiastic tone "Now come on, we got a mountain to climb!" They replied with a tired, lazy tone "sure, just give me a few years". You felt the warm, setting sun on you and yet you were barely tired while Frisk seemed ready to fall onto the soft, green grass below you two, you knew they needed shade so you hauled them onto your back in a piggy back ride position with your bag still on your shoulder but out of the way.
You felt them tense for a moment before relaxing, they were starting to sweat. You started to climb Mt. Ebbot, the mountain seven human children had disappeared to, the mountain just above where your two monster friends lived underground, the mountain above the underground where the entire monster race lived.

You finally reached an entrance to a average sized cave, you gently put a warm and tired Frisk in the entrance of the cool cave. You checked yourself for any important injuries that you should be worried about, you did just carry a slightly heavy, small bag and your twin human sibling up a mountain. You had scratches everywhere on your face, ankles and hands but you soon noticed a small amount of crimson liquid dripping from your wrist so you checked your left, bleeding wrist to notice that you had a cut about one or two centimetres long across your left wrist.
You quietly sighed as you swung the small bag from your shoulder to the space on the floor of this cave and crouched down to get supplies to treat your wound. You opened up the small drawstring bag and brought out a large plaster and some spray to clean it to make sure it didn't get infected. Once you had taken care of the wound, you looked around to see Frisk leaning against the entrance of this cave, your bag in front of you and no one else so you used your rare ability to use magic and healed your wound a bit so the recovery would speed up.
You hauled Frisk and your bag onto your back in the same position as before and started walking deeper into the cave until you came in front of a deep hole that seemed like an endless abyss, growing curious you took a look down the hole but not getting close enough to fall in or so you thought as the ground gave away beneath you and instinctively you made sure you were below Frisk to brake their fall, you didn't care what happened to you just as long as you protected Frisk. That was your last thought as you blacked out...
You soon woke up to Frisk frantically shaking you to wake you up, not wanting to worry Frisk you groaned and got up, they started mumbling something that you couldn't hear since they spoke so quickly but they sounded worried so you reassured them that you were completely fine and that you both should start finding a way out of the underground since you couldn't go back up the way you came, maybe even find your monster friends from your early childhood. Now that you had a proper look around you were sitting on a massive bed of golden flowers, sun was shining down on you and your twin while the rest of the small cave that looked like a room stayed as dark as the night.
You told Frisk for them to stay here for a bit until you came back and with those words you walked to the next room which was very similar to the first room but instead of flowers there was a patch of grass with one bigger, golden flower that seemed to face back to you with a way too happy smile on their face. Your instincts were telling you that something wasn't right and you always trusted your instincts...
