There once was a girl who stood,
Amongst the waves crashing in around her
Killing the ones she cherished and loved. There once was a girl who wore a mask,
Not the smile, nor the frown,
But the most difficult, placid one,
And with the greatest precision
She painted layers of black,
Over the most colourful and strong emotions
She had ever conjured up.She thought she would be happy inside if she did so.
She was wrong. And she put a thousand doors,
With a thousand keys,
And she wanted somebody to take those keys,
And demolish everything she had ever painted and built-
So that they would know, understand, care,
And she would be free and and she would spread her colours.
She handed the keys to everybody she thought would actually
Care,
But of course they threw it to the deepest ocean with a laugh,
They would not be set down with her!
And our girl was left rooting in the ocean,
Every time she gave the key she would be sent to the ocean to look for it
Again and again,
And this girl never knew that she was drowning the people who
Cared,
The people who would volunteer
And dive,
Headfirst to find what she wanted,
Simply because.
And they died. Our girl was left in the ocean.
And she waited.
She lived.
She lives on.She waits underneath the ocean,
And yells with the waves,
For a passerby to give her the key,
"I've learnt my lesson!"
She cried,
She needed those keys,
She wanted her colours,
But once again she would be drowned out.But she lives on under the sea,
Hear the waves
And you'll hear her cry,But she has now understood.
She has conquered her guilt,
Regret,
Hate,
Sorrow. There once was a girl who stood,
Amongst the waves crashing in around her,
Killing the ones she cherished and loved. She looks on.
And now she smiles. But nobody can see it.
I wrote this poem to show that we must never ever conceal our feelings and emotions, there will be a time when we must let our feelings flow.
