Recap since it's been so long: It's Julinha's final year at Alistrial High (in Cantura), her father (biological of course, the King of Amarilia) hired a body guard who also happens to be a (super hot, super obnoxious) fake named Kaito who is living in the room next to hers (administration added a door that connects their living rooms). The gorges planned a party for the upcoming Friday. (Basically)
Chapter 4
"What's the deal with this party?" Lea asked Francesca in a bored voiced as the bell rang to end our last class for the day, "Is it still happening?"
"Of course it is," the gorge scoffed and rolled her eyes then turned her attention to me, "You're coming right Julie? Be sure to bring that sexy ass body guard of yours."
"Will do," I laughed uncomfortably and shoved the last of my books in my bag, "I'll catch up with you guys later, I have to talk to Mr. Long about our final assignment."
Everyone has had that one teacher that absurdly detests them because they think that you think that you're an entitled brat. This man hated me even more when he found out that I was indeed entitled. But damn I've never bothered the guy a day in my life. I swore I heard him groaned when he saw me approaching his desk.
"Hi Mr. Long," I tried to say in a voice that won't annoy him too much, "I was wondering... about the final assignment..."
"No I will not switch your partner," he didn't even try to hide his annoyance, "In the real world you can't always get what you want."
I was appalled, it's like I had been slapped in the face. I had never been thus treated in my entire life; even before I found out I was a princess. It honestly felt like I was having an out of body experience.
"I... I just wanted to know if we had to submit a hard copy as well as the soft..." his demeanor hadn't changed but I saw the tips of his ears redden.
"Yes," he continued in the same tone, "both are required."
His clipped toned suggested that he was done with me so I just bowed my head and made my way out of the class. Bumping into a couple of desks on the way.
"Why does he dislike you so much?" I jumped when the slightly accented voice attacked me as soon as I closed the classroom's door, "sorry, did he do something to you? Why are you so on edge? I swear if he did anything to you I'll rip his dick off."
I looked up at Kaito only to realise that he was being very serious. His face was deathly still with the hint of a vein throbbing on his forehead and his fists were balled up so tightly the pattern of blood vessels were incredibly visible along his arms. I put my arm on his shoulder and smiled up at him.
"It's fine," I tried to sound unbothered, "nothing happened, he's always been like that."
Kaito didn't seem convinced but he let it go anyway. The way his brow furrowed made my heart speed up. His job juls, he is doing his job. Right, I totally forgot that he was my bodyguard... I got so caught up in the "fun" of him being here that I forgot why he was here. I'd never tell him that I enjoy his presence though.
"Are you up for a party later?" I said dauntingly, trying to lighten the mood as we made our way down the halls of the Linguist building, "I was planning on sneaking out without telling you cause you're annoying."
"I was planning on sneaking out without telling you because you're annoying," he scoffed at me as though I said the most ridiculous thing possible as we exited the school building, "who do you think you are? A princess?"
